Kaiser Stuhl National Park is only a short drive away over the lookout at Mengler’s Hill and the Heyson Trail runs through the hill at the Eastern end. Permission may be needed to access other private properties adjoining, however. Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The helpful staff at the Visitor’s Centre in Murray St can assist with answering questions and most services are catered for in the town’s centre. This site’s location lends itself to quite short or long term stays with close access to the fruits of the Barrosa. There are recharge and excellent public facilities at the Visitor Centre and links to Barossa Balloon Adventures if desired. There are no facilities, so campers must be 100% self-contained, taking all waste and rubbish with them when they leave.

There is also a gas BBQ in the outdoor room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage. To ensure only one group of campers at a time, THE COTTAGE HAS TO BE BOOKED FIRST, then book the extra campers through the additional campsites listing. Eckert's Old Place is within an easy drive to the Clare Valley wine regions and historic Robertstown, Burra and Eudunda. Campfires welcome when not in fireban season. Pindari means “From the high ground” from the aboriginal origin and was originally apart of the Nor’ West Bend Station (est. 1850) that stretched from Overland Corner to Burra. The Nor’ West Bend Station next door is now a heritage listed private residence. With Pindari Park’s scattered native trees, saltbush and mallee shrubs bringing an abundance of wildlife to the property, sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity. While you sit at the camps sites, enjoy watching the Cadell Ferry, appreciate birds and wildlife, or just enjoy the river boats on their journey up or down our mighty River Murray. You just might be able to catch one of the cruise boats or paddle steamers cruise past, make sure you give them a wave as they pass by. Pindari Park has many gravel roads and tracks to follow for taking a hike/walk, however, please note that this property is on a cliff, therefore it may not be suitable for young children and caution must be taken at all times. Each campsite has a fire pit area that can be used during May to October each year (fire ban period is November to April each year). Potential for vineyard and with an airfield close by and a quality dirt road running along the Western boundary and a surveyed road along the northern boundary this site makes for easy walking and is within short distances to some of the best cellar doors in the Barossa. Kaiser Stuhl National Park is only a short drive away over the lookout at Mengler’s Hill and the Heyson Trail runs through the hill at the Eastern end. Permission may be needed to access other private properties adjoining, however. Wineries close by include Jacob’s Creek Visitors Centre, Rockfords, Grant Burge Cellar Door, St Hugo’s, Charles Melton, Moorooroo Cellar Door or Jacob’s Creek Retreat. Tanunda is only a 5-10 min drive away where a great range of food outlets and a wider range of cellar doors exist. The helpful staff at the Visitor’s Centre in Murray St can assist with answering questions and most services are catered for in the town’s centre. This site’s location lends itself to quite short or long term stays with close access to the fruits of the Barrosa. There are recharge and excellent public facilities at the Visitor Centre and links to Barossa Balloon Adventures if desired. There are no facilities, so campers must be 100% self-contained, taking all waste and rubbish with them when they leave.

We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ in the outdoor room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage. To ensure only one group of campers at a time, THE COTTAGE HAS TO BE BOOKED FIRST, then book the extra campers through the additional campsites listing. Pindari means “From the high ground” from the aboriginal origin and was originally apart of the Nor’ West Bend Station (est. 1850) that stretched from Overland Corner to Burra. The Nor’ West Bend Station next door is now a heritage listed private residence. With Pindari Park’s scattered native trees, saltbush and mallee shrubs bringing an abundance of wildlife to the property, sit back, relax and enjoy the serenity. While you sit at the camps sites, enjoy watching the Cadell Ferry, appreciate birds and wildlife, or just enjoy the river boats on their journey up or down our mighty River Murray. You just might be able to catch one of the cruise boats or paddle steamers cruise past, make sure you give them a wave as they pass by. Pindari Park has many gravel roads and tracks to follow for taking a hike/walk, however, please note that this property is on a cliff, therefore it may not be suitable for young children and caution must be taken at all times.
