Pichi Richi Park is our family owned and operated property, 13km south of Quorn in the heart of the Pichi Richi Pass. We have plenty of campsites, including bush campsites that are secluded and private, along with campsites that are much closer to our bathrooms, group accommodation, kitchens and bush cabins. Here at Pichi Richi Park, there are a number of signposted walking tracks ranging in distance from a few km up to a 10km+ loop. The Heysen Trail comes through our property for nearly 7km and some of our own walking tracks link with the Heysen as it meanders through our property. You can also ride your mountain bike around and the Mawson Bike Trail is not far away. We have over 1,000 acres of land around our accommodation that we do not graze as we are allowing this beautiful piece of Aussie outback to return to its original and pristine state. We are not a caravan park, so all campers and caravanners that come here get a fair bit of space and nobody is on top of anyone else. Quorn is our local town and is 13km away to the north. Quorn has 2 pubs, a number of cafes and a little supermarket that is open from 7am to 8pm 7 days a week.

There are livestock on the property, please do not approach livestock unless Host is with you. Just a short drive of 30 minutes to the town of Burra you can enjoy the Passport Key and see the rich heritage of the copper mining era. Jamestown is 25 minutes drive where you can explore the bundaleer forest or see the tesla battery.

I had a great stay and thank you to Alex for being so positive in opening up his property to motorcycle camping. I had the property to myself and found a great spot to pitch my tent. Campsite 11 had fantastic views across the valley and it was nice to sit back and watch the setting sun. I’ll definitely be planning another adventure.

I was in camp 5, with only 1 other camper visible off in the distance. The space looking down towards Port Augusta is huge. Unfortunately it was 32 degrees and extremely windy, and was not comfortable at all. Loads of flies. Luckily the big old gum tree provided shade. Any walks were out of the question. Once the wind dropped and the flies disappeared it was a pleasant spot to relax in. The sunset was beautiful.

Such a beautiful spot- my partner, pup and I, had the most relaxing time enjoying the stunning views and privacy of Camp 1. Would love to come back again with the family as there is so much space on each site, the long drops were clean as, and we’d like to explore the hiking further as it was quite hot by the time we peeled our bottoms of the camping chairs, and the snakes were out to play! This was our second stay at Mavericks Rest, both overnighters. We really loved the open landscape and peacefulness of being in the countryside. In April 2025 it was very much in drought, while this time it was very green and in good condition. Regardless we loved both times. We’d definitely return if we were passing through. Highly recommended.

She was quick to respond with a booking request. property is easy to find. super spacious sites, heaps of room between you and others. Toilets. Property is on a rise so has a nice sunset view. Heggies was so good… Campsites are nicely spaced out so you don’t feel like you’re in each other’s pockets. Toilets were a particularly highlight, it felt like you were doing your business in a Swedish bath house! I’d highly recommend and hope to be back sooner

I had a great stay in site 1 which looks out to a great view right from the tent. Although a bit further to the pretty splendid bathrooms - it’s a short walk. Other guests were friendly and respectful of your camp site and were all there to enjoy the nature.
