Established as a caravan park in 1954 Brownhill Creek Tourist Park is the perfect place to relax and unwind in tranquil surroundings. Close to transport with direct routes to the city, easy access to Café’s, Bistro’s, hotels and shopping centres. A short 15 minute drive to the city, hospitals, beaches and fabulous shopping precincts. A 60 minute drive to the wine regions of the Barossa Valley and 25 minutes to McLaren Vale. Steeped in history and wild life, Brownhill Creek Tourist Park offers the ease of access to many walking and cycling trails where ruins of the early 1900’s can be seen along with the 400 year old tree in the centre of the park called “The Monach”.

We are a Poll Merino sheep stud and a wheat/barley cropping farm at Emu Downs in the Mid North of SA. We have resurrected this character old workers quarters which we've turned into a rustic, peaceful abode for you to enjoy. Sleeps four (double bed, single bed and old miners couch,). Bring your own bedding. There is a flushing external toilet and a bush shower (ie: a shower bag, provided). The room with the open fire can be utilised as a kitchen/living area. We've provided crockery, cutlery, glasses, kettles and a camp oven. There is running cold rainwater into the sink. Cooking can be done on the open fire, or use the small camp gas cookers. There is also a gas BBQ in the outdoor room. If you are really brave, try your hand at camp oven cooking in the campfire. There is no power, only lighting provided from a small solar panel/battery. Extra guests welcome in tents, swags or vans adjacent to the cottage. To ensure only one group of campers at a time, THE COTTAGE HAS TO BE BOOKED FIRST, then book the extra campers through the additional campsites listing. Eckert's Old Place is within an easy drive to the Clare Valley wine regions and historic Robertstown, Burra and Eudunda. Campfires welcome when not in fireban season. You can order a wheelbarrow load for $30, or bring your own. Dogs are permitted, but please understand, we are a sheep stud and need to ensure no disturbance from dogs. Please advise if you intend to bring your dog.
