Come and escape to our stunning off-grid cabin in Wondecla, located in the serene Atherton Tablelands. Surrounded by beautiful gum trees in a natural setting, it's the perfect destination for those seeking tranquillity and relaxation. Our host has expertly constructed the cabin from a combination of recycled and new materials, featuring large windows that offer breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape.

Booking the cabin grants you exclusive use of the entire campsite, and you have the option to invite friends and family to join you for a small fee. The cabin itself provides a peaceful retreat, equipped with a comfortable bed, fresh linens, and all the amenities you need to feel at home. Powered entirely by a solar 12v system, the cabin provides a sustainable off-grid living experience. Wake up to the sounds of nature, step out onto your private deck, and take in the breath-taking views of the surrounding wildlife.

Our campsite offers a range of amenities, including a large fire pit for cosy evenings and a fully-equipped outdoor kitchen for preparing meals. The outdoor shower is spacious, providing a unique experience of showering under the stars. We source hot water from rainwater tanks or the nearby creek during dry seasons, so you can still enjoy a warm shower even while off-grid.

Surrounded by stunning natural beauty, with gum trees towering overhead and the sounds of birds and wildlife in the background, it's the perfect place to relax, unwind and reconnect with nature. Platypus Bend

This campsite would accommodate multiple camper vans and cars, and is located on the bend of the creek with steps down into the water. There are large trees and abundant bird life, and you may spot a
platypus if lucky.
A large fire pit is set up for all your camp oven cooking.

Chirpy Camp

This is a very private camp for tent or a roof top camper, maximum 2 people. Camp by the creek and enjoy the birdlife, and peace and quite. There is an open fire available and plenty of wood to collect.

Chicken Run Camp

This is a peaceful campsite, with plenty of timber for an open fire, and flat grassy areas. It's a short walk to creek. Abundant bird life. Wake up to the rooster crowing, goats baaing and birds chirping.
Enjoy the evenings around the campfire.

Resonance - Forest Song

Boonjie is a great place to base yourself to visit the amazing sights in the surrounding area! Our property has beautiful native visitors, including the occasional cassowary, and regular morning choir of ground dwelling chowachillas.

This campsite suits self reliant and self contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and water supply.

Lamins Hill lookout, and the entrances to Windin Falls, and the famous trek up Queensland’s Highest Mountain, are only minutes away. So too, are the Atherton Tablelands‘ crater lakes, Eacham & Barrine, and the small town of Malanda, with its iconic falls, both designated swimming destinations, though, highlights are the clear creeks between there and Boonjie (means mate). This is near “Top Camp”, where First Nations people would arrive after the gruelling walk up the Russel River, from the coast, where Innisfail now stands (Innisfail can be seen from the top road). 

With evidence of European and Chinese gold miners, from the 1900’s, this spot is both remote AND central, for a day trip to Millaa Millaa’s extraordinary Falls circuit, Herberton’s Historical Village and the flowered and funky Yungaburra.

TOLGA CARAVAN PARK

Located in the heart of Atherton Tablelands, Tolga Caravan Park is on 6-10 Kennedy Hwy Tolga, 6 mins drive from the main town of Atherton. Rainforest bush walk & a bike trail at the rear of the park, adjacent to the park is a big sports complex w/ playground, exercise equipment, tennis court & BBQ area.The presence of wildlife like wallabies and bush turkeys are seen at nightime . At the rear of the park are the easy access large, level & grassy tourists sites. The park is suitable for motorhomes, camper trailer, big caravans, etc. At the reception, it has a deck rest area with pond, waterfall & a small convenience shop. Couples particularly like the location - they rated it 9/10 for a two-person trip."

On The Wild Side

A basic but clean and tidy fully self contained cabin (amenities block is approx. 30m away from the cabin), built in part of a larger structure, located 100m from the main farm homestead, on a small rise above the bank of the Wild River.

Guests are able to access the river which can vary in size depending on the time of the year.

There are 100's kms of tracks which can be accessed from the property suitable for mountain biking, hiking, horse riding or motor bikes (we do not allow motor bikes to be ridden on our property other than to come and go while accessing the surrounding State Forest Tracks or main roads).

The property is isolated and situated .5 kms away from our nearest neighbours, so is suitable for those who will enjoy a quiet time in nature. Most times of the year it is possible to have a camp fire along side the river.

During the wet season it is advisable to have a 4WD or at least a vehicle with higher clearance vehicle to access the property. 

As a licensed caterer for many years, I am able to provide Meals & Snacks should you require them.

We do offer horse rides on 2 of our quiet horses, conditions apply. If you have your own horses that you'd like to bring we can provide you a 4 acre paddock for your horses to use.
