The spacious powered and unpowered sites are surrounded by native bushland, allowing an abundance of wildlife to call Traveller's Rest 1770 their home. Our well-maintained amenities add an extra bit of comfort to the only Ecotourism certified Nature-Campground on the Discovery Coast! Our guests start their day with calls of Kookaburra’s, nestled in tall Gumtrees and settle by their campfire at night to enjoy clear views of the night sky. Traveller’s Rest 1770 invites their guests to immerse themselves in a truly restful camping experience on their 44-acres property - far enough away from the hustle of town but close enough to enjoy a trip to Lady Musgrave Island - the Gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Experience the bespoke bushland boardwalk, meandering along a carefully chosen path and inviting you to tune into a natural harmony of bird calls, rustling leaves and gentle breezes. The bushland boardwalk can be accessed by wheelchairs and prams, and our spacious undercover BBQ Area offers a generous space for shade, rest and wildlife observations. Additional information: -Please empty your toilets at the 1770 SES Dump Point. We do not have a dump point, greywater can be dispersed on your site - Early check-in: 12 pm - Late check-out: 11 am - Exclusive access to our bushland boardwalk - No mobile phone/TV reception - No generators - No pets - Please notify us if you arrive later then 6 pm, so we can arrange a smooth arrival for you. - Firepits are available for hire, Wood is sold on-site ($15 per bag) - subject to availability - pre-booking is recommended

Such a perfect place to stay out of the busy hustle n bustle. The paperbark forest was next level, it was my absolute favourite thing to do here. We took a bike & ride through the forest. So peaceful Bliss

Beautiful campground near to Agnes Water. Connection to nature is key here, the hosts built an impressive boardwalk to walk into the forrest (pram friendly) with signage about animals and trees. Clean facilities and nice hosts.

Ripper spot, just out of down. Everything you need and plenty of space to setup and have a peaceful camp. Beautiful property with lots of fun trails and attractions! Would definitely stay here again. The kangaroos and kookaburras are the cherry on top! Hosts were lovely and had great knowledge of the local area.

Weekend Trip to Travellers Rest 1770 Eco Camping

Myself and my partner stayed 2 nights for a weekend getaway and were beyond happy with the stay. Mike and his family were extremely welcoming and there were more secluded spots available for privacy. It was a quick drive into town and the area was quiet and peaceful with plenty of lovely wide-life. The toilets and showers were a massive bonus and clean and tidy at all times. Although we didn’t use them the hot plates, microwave and kettle could be very helpful. We will definitely be back Thankyou Mike, Michi and family 😁

We had a fabulous 5 nights at Travellers Rest 1770. Quiet, relaxing and plenty of room between camping spots. Amenities were very clean. Close to Agnus Waters to enjoy all the activities available. Definitely on our list of return Hipcamps.

We chose this site due to the positive 5 star ratings on various camping sites. We definitely weren't disappointed!! It was an awesome campground. Michaela and Mike and their three children were most welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed Marks evening talk about the local area and the creation of their little piece of paradise. We are so glad we stayed here because it was only 5 minutes from town and the caravan parks in town had people packed in like sardines! We will definitely be recommending 1770 Travellers Rest Eco Campground to our family and friends. Thank you Mike and Michaela 😊

A beautiful spot that is a short drive from Agnes Water and 1770. The facilities are excellent- hot showers, camp kitchen. There are lovely walks around the property and plenty of flat spaces for a tent. Road noise is the only thing that is a bit of an issue. Earplugs! 😁

Absolutely fantastic. Felt like we were sleeping in the middle of a national park. Tidy and warm showers!

They provide fire pits (firewood $15 for huge bag, BYO kindling/firestarters)

Fantastic eco-camp filled with birds of all species and some resident kangaroos. I had the most beautiful camp spot next to an amazing tree. Will return soon. The owners were delightful and so helpful. Really felt at home there and very safe.

We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Michaela was very welcoming and the facilities were well laid out and well cared for. The grounds were beautiful - a truly stunning setting. My only minor downside was the traffic on the road was fairly busy and the noise, while not overwhelming, was constant.
