Christmas Creek Cedar Cabin is a Tiny Home in the Scenic Rim. Positioned on a hill above Christmas Creek to take in the views, were you can watch the sun rise over Little Widgee Mountain and the sun set over the mountains to the west.
This fully contained cabin is approximately 30 square metres and features a small veranda out the front facing Little Widgee Mountain and Buchanans Fort. Sit back and relax on the bench seat or table and chairs.
A larger veranda out the back faces Christmas Creek and the mountains to the west. Relax on the deck chairs and read a book, or sit at the bar and enjoy a drink while watching the wildlife. There’s a table with chairs to enjoy your breakfast or dinner outside.The cute loft bedroom has a queen bed, and a double foldout sofa bed is available on ground level.
There’s reverse cycle air conditioning to keep you comfortable. The kitchen is self contained with a small microwave/oven, a 60 cm ceramic cooktop, a medium size fridge/freezer, a toaster and kettle. The lounge has a 40 cm smart TV with DVD player, table and chairs.
There’s a small firepit and chairs in the yard to enjoy the sun setting over the mountains and stars at night. The cabin is a few minutes drive on the property to the creek where there is a resident platypus and a picnic table for cabin guests. Relax on the sun lounge listening to the birds sing and Christmas Creek flowing by, or enjoy a Scenic drive or bushwalk in the local area. Christmas Creek Café is just down the road.

At Hazy Stays we offer a converted shipping container tiny home.
We have converted a container into a tiny home overlooking our gardens. Relax and unwind by the outdoor fireplace by night while you enjoy the sunset views over the hills. We are close to shops, restaurants, cafes, beaches, creeks and parks. It is only a short drive to Pottsville town. There is plenty to see and do in the Northern Rivers. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you would like some recommendations.
The container has been converted into a tiny liveable space with sustainability and simplicity in mind. Features include a compost toilet, hot shower, toaster, stovetop kettle, fridge, daybed, queen size main bed (linen provided as at an extra cost), small deck with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area.
You may like to meet our pet goats or if visiting a farm is what you’re into we can recommend some great local farm tours within a 20 minute drive from here.
If you’re looking to experience the rural setting with the convenience of beaches and shops being close by then this is the place for you. This is a unique area in Pottsville and we look forward to hosting.

Byron Bay's surf beaches and Ballina Byron Gateway Airport are both 45 minutes' drive away.
Cabins are fully equipped with all you need and have free WIFi and Smart TV's for a rainy afternoon movie.
The Channon Tavern is just 4klm down the road for a nice cold beer and live music on a Sunday afternoon.

Riversong - Floating Tree Tent

A beautiful piece of remnant forest on the bank of the Nerang River, with a swimming hole that is second to none.
The tree tent is situated in a small forest clearing overlooking the river rapids. The site has a compact outdoor kitchen complete with refrigerator, an outdoor hot shower, a firepit and a separate composting toilet. Sails are rigged above the tent to provide extra shade and shelter. It's private and shady but only a few minutes from the house.
The valley is a gem, only 200 odd people live here. If you love the outdoors - either just to chill or to actively recreate - this place is for you. As an outdoor educator, I have worked and played in the valley and surrounds for more than 25 years and I'm still discovering new things to see and do!
Advancetown Lake is a short drive away with paddling, sailing and fishing and no power boats or jetskis (Yeeha!!) There is a mountain bike park on the E side of the dam. You can walk from here to Springbrook and Lamington National Parks and the glow worms at Natural Bridge are a night time "must see".

These hills are filled with like-minded people who choose to live off-grid and grow food. No dogs or cats are allowed so the birds rule around here. We are a young family and run a local MMA gym. We have an at-home gym that’s available to people who stay and we have a massive tatami mat set up in the main house, so if you are a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu enthusiast you are welcome to come in and have a roll!
There are so many workshops, festivals, and events throughout these hills and our bungalow and campsites are a great safe place to come stay while you get into the area. Longer stays are optional too.
We live a clean and healthy lifestyle and our property reflects the creative eccentric people that we are. ART! Martial Arts and Healing!!! We are also bow hunters and have targets set up for archery. So bring your bow along if you are into that.

The (two room) caravan is newly renovated with a large outdoor patio area for dining and cooking on your campfire. There is no power supplied to the caravan, but lighting is provided by solar lights around the site. Access to power is provided at the main house.
It's really nice balance between convenience, security (friendly neighbourhood) and accessibility and the peace and quiet of being deep in the forest (where you can walk or ride your bike straight into the national park). Relax around the firepit in the evenings.
There is access to a toilet, shower and drinking water supply. There is a Jamie Oliver grill for cooking at the table, and a fire pit on hand as well. There are basic cooking implements, cutlery and crockery as well as a large green water tank for washing and drinking.
There is a portable toilet now installed outside the caravan for convenience.
The outside shower area is at the main house, and offers some, but not complete privacy.
We have rubbish and composting facilities.

The (two room) caravan is basic, but newly renovated with a covered roof allowing for a large outdoor patio area, covered back deck, camp toilet. basic kitchen equipment (cooking on your campfire). There is one power outlet supplied to the caravan, but lighting is provided by solar lights around the site. Access to power is provided at the main house.

2) Modern 'eco' house
A large (486 m2) open area with an upstairs, fully fly-screened, mezzanine area (lockable) with 3 bedrooms (queen, king single and single).
Downstairs there is a dining table, a kitchenette with kettle, toaster, induction cooker (and cookware), a deep bath tub, outside shower area and composting toilet.
Drive in to undercover parking and enjoy the (covered) outdoor lounge area around the fire pit.
There's easy access to the large veggie garden to pick fresh herbs and greens for your culinary creations!

The cabin and property was established in the early 1980’s and lived in for 37 yrs by famous Australian/Californian surfer and writer “Rusty Miller” and family (Rusty Miller was featured most notably in the iconic surf film from 1972 “Morning of the earth”.)
The cabin is located next to the main house of the hinterland property but not attached.
Cabin is private and fully self contained with cozy combustion fireplace for winter, A/C unit and/or fan for summer, fridge, 2 burner gas cooktop, basic kitchen equiped with cooking/dining utensils, tea and coffee provided, hot/cold water, kettle, toaster etc. shower, toilet, laundry and bathroom is seperate to cabin but located just metres away in the homes luandry and second bathroom with external entry door from porch patio. bathroom / luandry may be used by myself and other house member however we do also have another private bathroom in main house for our use. private outdoor hot shower out back of cabin in spa/bar grassed area.
Under cover parking next to cabin for one vehicle (further vehicles can be parked nearby within 10 metres not undercover.) Behind cabin is a private 4 person hot tub/spa under the stars with spa/bar and bbq area and outdoor campfire all for your exclusive use. hot outdoor shower next to spa.
If you care for a short walk down to the creekside tent site then your welcome to enjoy the creek swimming hole n rainforest walk through surrounding areas, this area may also be used by tent campers if they are here.
There is a fruit orchid with mostly citris and some tropical fruits which may or may not be ripe depending on time of year which your welcome to pick and enjoy, all this is a few hundred metres walk from the cabin. fresh farm eggs can be supplied free of charge.
The cabin is best suited to couples who want to explore byron shire for surfing, horse riding, food and culture or perhaps just site seeing and then have a quiet relaxing private space to come back to after a day out, or would also suit couples with up to 2 children (under 12.) (cabin is only 8x6 metres so not a huge indoor space for 2 kids and 2 adults but loads of space outside to enjoy!) 2 kids under 12 are allowed and pull out single bed mattresses and bedding is provided upon request.
families can enjoy a relaxing hobby farm experience n see the horses, collect fresh duck and chicken eggs, possibly spot a koala as we get them often, heaps of possums and other native wildlife passing by to see and hear.
Property is located 8mins from the Pacific highway, 10mins from Mullumbimby or 18mins from Byron bay township pubs, restaurants and surfing beaches.
Approximately 20mins drive to Brunswick heads surfing beaches or Byron surfing beaches. Board racks for surf boards provided.
National parks for hiking or horse riding within 20mins drive. Can accommodate 2 horses in paddocks ($10per horse per night.) and parking space for horse float should you wish to bring your horses and enjoy some trails or beach riding in the area, I can give more information on places to ride on request. The 4 person hot tub/spa out back of cabin is lovely under the stars and moonlight after a big day out exploring the area of Byron shire.
Delicious home cooked meals can be provided delivered to the cabin for additional costs please enquire. I enjoy gourmet game meat farm style cooking and Italian cooking, I have a history of working in commercial kitchens as a cook.
other activities that can be booked at additional cost include Didgeridoo Making workshops for adults and didgeridoo painting workshops for kids. this is a full day activity for adults and a half day activity for kids doing didgeridoo painting workshops. please enquire for more info and prices.
