Watton Airstrip is a stunning property, nestled on the banks of the Macquarie River.

Featuring an amazing rustic cabin, nine riverside campsites, along with paddock and bush sites, all 4WD accessible and two equally stunning 2WD accessible sites. You’ll share our spaces with kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas, deer, platypus and more.

Enjoy some optional extras, including Tammie's home made bread, farm fresh, free range eggs, or one of our range of grazing platters, home made jams or hot chocolate kits. 

Or pamper yourself with a Crystal reiki session, or tarot reading.

The 2WD accessible sites feature spectacular views to the right, towards Mt Panorama and Mt Horrible and towards Mt Canobolas to the left. 

Lie back in your swag at night and let the star struck, velvety sky envelope you, or make a booking at the nearby Bathurst Observatory to see the stars up close.

Each campsite offers its own unique features for you to enjoy and a hand crafted pit toilet is accessible to those camped along the river bank. 

Fish or swim in the river, ride your bikes, or set up camp and then head off on an adventure to the Goldfields at Ophir, or History Hill at Hill End via the Bridle Track.

Better still, book into a pub crawl with Damo so you can lie back and enjoy the ride. There are plenty of opportunities for 4WDing and bushwalking in the local area. 

Fires are allowed (fire restrictions permitting). 

Wood can be collected from fallen wood around the property, or bring your own if you prefer. 

Pets are welcome for a one off fee per animal. 

We do ask that pets are supervised at all times and that they do not interfere with farm animals or local wildlife.

The Stockyard Experience

Stockyard Farm is a working farm that was established in 1858.  

Our 4,000 acre undulating property is an area that lots of animals also call home such as kangaroos, deers,  wombats, goannas, echidnas, goats, sheep and cattle. 

Looking for some fun activities during your stay.  

We are located 5 minutes from the Burrendong Arboretum, only 7 minutes from Lake Burrendong where you can try your hand at activiites such as fishing, boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and much more.  If you book one of our bell tent sites you can select to get a free access card to Lake Burrendong which lets you enter the Park as many times as you like totally free.

If you don't mind a little drive we are only 1/2 an hour from the iconic Wellington Caves, 1 hour from Dubbo and Orange where you can visit wonderful attractions such as the Dubbo Western Plains Zoo, Old Dubbo Gaol,  Orange Ophir Gold Mine, 1.5 hours from beautiful Mudgee wineries and much much more.  

There are plenty of tourist activities which surround our beautiful property that you can visit, that is if you wish to leave the serenity of Stockyard.

Bellandre Park

We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW. 

The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it. 

The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax. 

The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River.

Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. 

The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. 

We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. 

We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. 

We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. 

From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo.

We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water.
Showers need to be short because water supply is limited.
In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink.

This building also looks down on the Bell river which looks sensational at the moment due to all the rain.


Lisadan Cottage and Homestead

This Homestead is set on 22 acres, just a short drive from the home of the Black Stump at Weetaliba, NSW.  Camping under the stars is a must here as you are able to star-gaze at Australia's first Dark Sky Park.

The homestead has 3 separate paddocks each with their own dam where you can have total privacy during your camp.  Although you may have a visit from the resident sheep who graze the pastures (don't worry - they are friendly).  

A perfect place for bird watching an array of native birds including rosellas, cockatoos, and currawongs and you will hear the kookaburras every morning and evening.  There are also kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas who roam the area.  It's a beautiful place to snap a pic especially if you catch the morning sunrises and spectacular sunsets which are guaranteed to wow you.

Do as little or as much as you want to on your stay.  A perfect place to just unwind and take in the fresh country air and beautiful views.  Stroll around the property and visit the old barn and some of the sheds and farming equipment that are scattered among the paddocks.  

You will have access to composting toilets or feel free to BYO facilities.  Campfires are welcome in the pits provided, permitting there are no restrictions at the time of your visit.  Dogs are welcomed as long as they are supervised and kept indoors at night.

Being within 20 minutes to the local town of Coolah, it's a perfect stop over for an overnight stay or for a long weekend.  You can easily duck into town to stock up on supplies or visit a good old country pub for a meal.

Fana Beag

Fana Beag is a tranquil country property 30km from Parkes NSW, with a cute farm stay cabin that offers the perfect antidote to life's hectic pace! 

We are a goat farm, with about 60 goats, and it's the perfect place to unwind and relax. Simply arrive and open the door to your little private cabin. All amenities you will need, including toilet, shower, and camp kitchen, are only 40 metres away. 

Listening to the gentle sounds of our chickens and goats is a wonderful way to wake up. You can say hello and walk amongst our friendly goats. Or go for walks without anyone around you. Have a drink on your private verandah, admiring the view of the popular Dish (Parkes Radio Telescope) from anywhere on the farm.
There is a reverse cycle air conditioner in the van for your comfort.

We are also 100 km from Dubbo Zoo - a great day trip!
