I enjoyed tent camping at Scott's site. The spot was spacious. There was a firepit, well-maintained woodchip toilet, and firepit. The spot was well-shaded by redwood trees and there were near by residential homes but the area was quiet overall. This spot is off Empire Road which is close to great hiking and biking trails.

Santa Cruz Camping
Peaceful and spacious area. Close to some scenic hiking trails. Scott was a helpful host and added some camping essentials to the site.

Beautiful scenery and shaded most of the day. Chairs and picnic benches plus a fire pit were nice amenities as well. It wasn't quite as remote as I expected but it was still great.

Location was nice. There was unfortunately a decent amount of garbage that had spilled out of one of the garbage cans and not been cleaned up.

AMAZING beautiful everything is wed hoped for and more. Will definitely stay again!! I don’t know how this place doesn’t have 100% to be honest. Definitely a hidden gem. Love the old growth redwoods, the lights, ambience, and privacy. Thank you so so much c:

Beautiful Private Redwood Campsite!
We absolutely loved camping at Scott’s land! The scenery was beautiful, the site had plenty of space, was nice and flat too! Scott was a great host with providing 2 wooden picnic tables, 4 Adirondack chairs, some wood already by the fire and 3 gallons of fresh water jugs already at the site for us when we got there.
It was a short but steep walk to load our stuff in and out, which could have been avoided if we had a 4WD but we do not, so luckily it wasn’t too far.
We loved the spot so much, we ended up added one extra night and took an extra PTO day while we were there! It was only 10-15 minutes from Henry Cowell Redwoods state park, which also meant the “choo choo” sound of the steam train could be heard periodically throughout the day and it really added to the atmosphere! We absolutely loved this spot and will want to come back for sure!
