If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
My friends and I visited "Sierra Foothills Group Camp" in March and we could not have had a better experience. The property is stunning - vast, diverse, and accommodating. We found several hikes, a river, wildlife, and many camping spots. The best part of our visit, though, was our host, Gary. Gary is a one of a kind human - he's spectacularly generous, quick to respond to our questions, and loves to teach others about the property. On the final day of our stay, he took our large group on a walk around the property with his biologist colleagues. We learned about the history of the land, his property management and maintenance, as well as lots of really great information about the flora and fauna all around us.
We will be back to camp at the Sierra Foothills Group Campsite - it was one of the most refreshing weekends I've experienced thus far. Thanks so much, Gary!
We absolutely loved our time here! The site was perfect for accommodating a large family camping weekend, with plenty of shade and sufficient kitchen facilities for meal prep. The watering hole on the campsite was not really appealing for swimming this time of year, but the Lower Coffee Campsite watering hole was only 10 minutes away and perfect for cooling off! Our only issue with the site was dealing with the aggressive yellow jackets during mealtimes (we had two people get stung). But bee stings aside, we had a wonderful time and hope to come back!
Fantastic oasis for peace and relaxation.
Perfect for friends, families, groups, weddings...
Full kitchen beyond our expectations. We could have prepared any type of meal here.
Private and very well maintained.
This was a great site, our group all enjoyed the place a lot. The pictures and descriptions on the site were very accurate and when we got to the site the place was simply awesome and superrrrr huge!
Our campsite host Gary was super helpful with recommendation for hiking trails, and always very responsive when we asked him questions on message board.
All my friends love the place so much and I think they are expecting me to book something of this quality for all the future camping trips to come... and I have to tell them don’t get your expectations up coz this is a special place and won’t be that easy to come around =)
River Ridge is a magical place. End of story.
Brought 15 friends out, rented the whole place for the night, Gary had extra firewood stocked for us and was extremely responsive regarding a late checkout and making it work for our group. The pasture and pond are perfect.
Everyone in the group's already talking about making it annual trip. That good.
You should absolutely stay here!
Our group had a wonderful weekend at this unique property. Clearly, Gary has made every effort to ensure that campers have an enjoyable stay. The kitchen has all the equipment anyone would need to prepare and serve meals for a large group. There are multiple seating areas around the camp from which to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the company of friends. The bathrooms are clean and well-stocked.
There are multiple paths and trails to explore, and the ambitious can hike to the top of the ranch. If the river is flowing, the swimming hole is an excellent place to pass the time. After dark, take a walk towards the pasture for “stellar” views of the night sky or spend some time around the world-class fire pit.
Beautiful gem of a group campsite!
We stayed at River Ridge Ranch for my 40th birthday weekend and it was a blast! It was hot but the swimming hole (Turtle Cove) was in perfect condition for all day float sessions. We really appreciated all the amenities of the kitchen and the different areas to hang out (like hammocks). Some of us braved the 3.5 mile hike to the top of the ridge, but mostly we just wanted to be at the ranch and play. Thank you Gary and Emma for solid communication leading up to the event, and for checking in on us every day. But mostly, thank you for sharing this special piece of heaven with the world! If you book this, you will not be disappointed.
This place has everything you need for group camping. It’s secluded, clean, and has plenty of amazing features like the kitchen, pond, and hammocks. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here and would absolutely come again.
