Loved the nature but the site and grounds are not kept up. I wouldn’t recommend at least site 6 for children and the other two sites are right next the to compost toilet. Very rough roads, they are not kidding when they say 4x4 is required. Host was initially responsive when I arrived and couldn’t find site 6 but then was non responsive m, thankfully other campers pointed me in the right direction. Road noise and some type of construction noise in the morning. Plenty of other places actually try to make their campers feel welcome I’d go there.

The camp area was very nice, it was secluded, yet close to everything. The host was very responsive.
The site toward the entrance looked nice and at first glance, clean.
Our site, site 7, was very spacious and the nature part of it, was great. However, it was very messy. We had a family of 14 with lots of kids. Toward the entrance there’s a platform, we all crunched ourselves in there because everywhere else, there was some type of mess. There was a canopy with old car seats removed from vehicles, there was an inflatable tunnel with trash in there, there was old rolled up rugs, then a dome that’s missing a lot of green tarp, then a random ladder with a random solo-wall. There’s just a lot of junk everywhere.
Again, it’s located in a very nice part of the woods, feels safe, great communication and has a lot of potential, but all that junk needs to go. It isn’t inviting to a family with kids.

Cute spot! We enjoyed it, the spots are pretty close together but if you’re alone, it’s a nice quiet place.
If you don’t have a 4wheel drive car, be prepared to hike up & down a steep driveway, not impossible but definitely tiring.

This was my 4 year old son's first camping trip and we had a blast! The site was what I expected based on the host's description and the other reviews I read. We loved using our campsite as a springboard for visiting Santa Cruz and we had fun looking for banana slugs.

The land was beautiful! The camp sites are pretty close together but no one was there so it was nice and peaceful. The toilet it a pit toilet with a curtain to close it, but as long as you expect it, it’s not bad.

Nice place overall! Site 6 had the most privacy, and the place would feel a bit crowded if all sites were full (it wasn't for our visit). The camp overall was exactly what we were looking for! Minimalistic but perfectly cozy, quiet, and scenic. We would stay here again in the future. Great proximity to many state parks in the area.

A peaceful retreat among the redwoods. Redwood paradise offered the perfect escape from the city heat. Our site was tucked under a canopy of trees, which kept things cool and private. The facilities were well-maintained. It was a great 'basecamp' for hiking the nearby trails. Perfect for families or anyone looking to disconnect.
Mr. Scott is really helpful person.
Its my request to him, if is possible to give shower facility at your camping site then it be a awesome. Else every is good.

This was such a beautiful place to camp. Everything was perfect. It was SO green and peaceful. The site was clean, had chairs & a fire pit. We just wanted to be amongst the trees and this was the perfect place to have that experience. Would definitely go again!

There was previous trash that was sprayed across campsite. The tap water was murky and not usable
-Camp parking was used for personal parking spot and by a yellow truck.
- There were also metal sheet parts around the campsite which made it look unnatural or that we were in backyard of houses
- No accessible hiking trails around or on site
- Bathroom could be improved considering this was a paid campsite. There was limited are to sit down. It was good to have toilet paper.

Overall the location is beautiful. However we wished the hipcamp (and site) had been better marked, campfire rules had been communicated, and there was a bit more space between sites. It’s not walkable to trails so be prepared to drive if you want to do anything other than sit and relax.

Cute spot! I was impressed at how secluded and peaceful it felt while still being within ~15 minute drive of Santa Cruz. As mentioned in the description/other reviews, the road down to the site was quite steep so make sure your car can handle it, or be prepared to walk a short distance downhill.

I love camping in the forest, it was absolutely beautiful. Only downside like everybody says is that it’s a little rough getting down to the campsites. Scott is an incredible host and was very helpful in directing us to the campsite as we arrived later and had trouble finding it. Make sure to have four wheel drive if you do not want to walk back and forth from your campsite to your car. It’s a bit of a walk especially with stuff. If you have four wheel drive though, it will be awesome.

The campsite seemed very nice! I planned a trip with my best friend to visit UC Santa Cruz, and we chose to stay overnight there at the campground. We arrived extremely late, which is not recommended by him, but we planned it at the very last minute, so we didn't read the full instructions. Likely a mistake on our part, but the link to the location of the sight took us to the wrong spot at first. However, after going further up the road, we found the driveway entrance. When we were lost, Scott was incredibly helpful and understanding. I recommend you stay there if you want to camp a bit in Santa Cruz. It's a bit expensive, but a good spot.

Tent camping here was a blast! Beautiful land surrounded by redwoods. Close enough to drive into town or head to the beach, but secluded enough to make you feel disconnected from “everyday life”

The location was great and the campsite was clean and well kept but way overpriced imo, especially given the lack of amenities. The extra guest fee was crazy. Listing says there’s a composting toilet but then we found out you’re not supposed to pee in it. As a group of women, that would’ve been nice to know. The spigot water also came out discolored so we didn’t end up using it.

Tent camping with our dog was great at this spot, we chose site 2 which was a little closer to Site one than we expected. We were lucky our neighbors were very quiet and kept a similar schedule to us.
