About Newbird Cabin
Newbird cabin is ideal for those seeking a more familiar, comfortable accommodation. Built above most other structures on the farm, the deck of this cabin provides guests with a bird's eye view of the farm. It is a small hike uphill to get to the cabin, so keep this in mind when packing for your trip. Complete privacy, along with modern decor and finishing, makes this cabin a favourite among those less familiar with rustic living. Newbird Cabin perfectly balances the rustic heart of Oz with small comforts from the urban world.

The vibe at Newbird Cabin
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Having the ability to stay on this amazing land use farm provided more than just a stay in a cabin. We got to see how they deal with the logistical issues of power production, water use and waste management etc. We also enjoyed walking around and seeing the other cabins along with the produce being grown and harvested.
We had such a great getaway to Oz Farm. Definitely recommend arranging to have a fresh produce box that comes straight from the property. The location of the Newbird cabin was perfect in relation to where the community areas are and to the river where you can take a dip. We would come back to this place for sure.
Newbird Cabin is simply a wonderful place - all the comforts of home with views of Oz Farm! No need to pack a sleeping bag, the beds are made and the small kitchen is outfitted with everything you need :) Bring some towels to dry off after the outdoor shower, a swim in the river, or a dip in the redwood hot tub... This cabin is a great home base to forget what time it is and enjoy the simple things in life. I highly recommend you get the CSA box! I have never tasted more amazing greens and asparagus and am very excited to go back after the berries are ripe <3 Things to do: walk the trails around the property, visit Stonetta Lands, simply be present at Oz and experience the magic.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Newbird Cabin. We took the scenic route down Hwy 1 and arrived at Oz Farm and were greeted warmly by one of the residents there. There was a community space with a kitchen, running water toilets/showers etc but we opted to spend most of our at our secluded cabin up the hill at Newbird! The cabin was nice, there was plenty of space and a kitchenette area and a fire place which we liked. There was no electricity or hot water but we had brought our own camping lights. There was also an out house closeby. The cabin stayed toasty with the fire on and once the sun went down we enjoyed some quiet time just laying by the fire. This has to have been one of the most quiet and peaceful evenings I've had in a while! We had a nice time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thanks Oz Farm!
What a gem! The perched position on the hill provides a private retreat and the friendly folks at the farm made us feel at home. The kitchen in the cabin was easy to use for basic meals -- and a short walk away there's access to the gourmet shared kitchen, if needed! Highly recommended.
we LOVED our stay at Newbird Cabin and at Oz Farm in general. We made the drive up from San Francisco on a Friday and got in right at sundown. The staff gave us some wonderful recommendations for places to eat in Point Arena and ended up at Bird for a fantastic dinner. The following day we made dinner with another couple in the communal house and had the chance to chat with Dean, who was so warm and hospitable and happy to answer all of our questions about the farm. We soaked in the tubs below the kitchen in the morning which was an added bonus we weren't expecting. Thank you so much, Oz Farm, for a fantastic weekend! We will be back again soon!
