Kick up your feet on our platform overlooking the beautiful Smith River and enjoy the only undammed watershed in California. The platform is large enough for most tents if you'd like to sleep with a front-row view. Meadow space is also available for tents, and there is parking for camper vans and trailers. Escape to our campsite for the perfect springboard to the breathtaking natural landscapes found only on California's rugged north coast.
You will have two acres of waterfront all to yourself. There are neighboring properties but folks generally keep to themselves. We are slowly rehabbing the property into an off-grid haven. Come spend time on the river and enjoy our swimming holes, open meadow, oak grove, and cozy fire pit. Make sure you bring lamps and lanterns for camping the old-fashioned way, utilizing our clean water spigots and pit toilet that keep us off-grid!
The property is surrounded by hiking trails, biking trails, swimming spots, fishing holes, and more! Within 30 minutes we have the magnificent redwoods forests, dramatic northern California beaches, wonderful restaurants and breweries, and all the in town amenities you could need. If you have specific interests, feel free to reach out for recommendations.
The north coast is both an adventure-center and a place to relax and disconnect from the distractions of our busy lives. The property is a few miles up the south fork of the Smith River which is a doorway to the Smith River National Recreation Area. You won't have cell phone service at the site, but can get that and anything else you might need just a few miles away in Hiouchi.
Dogs are welcome to enjoy our space too! We encourage you to bring your pets. Leashes are not required but bear in mind our land is not completely fenced. Please have your pet under voice control for their safety and as courtesy to nearby landowners.

I can't say anything that hasn't already been said about Camp Jade River. It is beautiful, private and the views that accompany this site are unmatched!
There are 4 different levels to this campsite
1st: The Meadow: The most sun in the campsite. Back your vehicle into the beautiful meadow above camp and below the outhouse. (I saw banana slugs here in the morning hours)
2nd: The Firepit: A perfect place to set up hammocks next to a cozy campfire.
3rd: The Deck: It is what it is. A perfect deck on a perfect river. Enough room to pitch your tent and enjoy looking over the Smith River. (Watch your step between the 2nd level and the 3rd!)
4th: The Swimhole: If i had to guess, it's about a 15 ft. Deep private swimming hole of crystal clear beautiful Jade green water with multiple small waterfalls. Just follow the ropes going down to the River on the right hand side of the deck.
Tyler,
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful land with us for a couple of days. We are Already planning our next visit to Jade River

Camp Jade River was beautiful as promised, and in a quiet but convenient location -- less than 20 minutes to gas and convenience stores in town, as well as hiking trails nearby.
Great spot on the oh so beautiful south fork of the smith river. Our host Tyler was more than accommodating. With limited camping options in the area, this place is really a hidden gem. Surrounded by year round recreational opportunities we will definitely be returning & recommending this place to friends!
This camp site was amazing! The drive was a bit longer than expected but by far our favorite we stayed at along our trip. There is plenty of space if you want to camp up on the grass, great bathroom and drinking water. The deck along the river was the best spot for a single tent and cooking space. We woke up in the morning, made breakfast and spent 2 hours swimming in the river with our pups. Water wasn't too cold and at night you can see little bats flying up and down the water eating insects. Definitely can't wait to go back!
Jade Camp was such a sweet spot to camp at. We felt lucky that they shared this spot with us. The site is righr on a crystal clear river, very private, and deep in the woods. The river was an excellent swimming hole. The plateform was perfect spot to pitch a tent and they had a great fire pit circle with benches. They even provided us with fire wood (above and beyond gracious hosting)! The pit toliet, water, and great signs letting you know where everything was. Tyler was a great host with excellent communication. We would love to come back! Well done y’all!

This place is SO dreamy!!! I wish we could have stayed here much longer. I loved being able to set up our tent with a direct view of the beautiful river. We saw river otters, great blue heron and some other lovely wildlife. Very private river access and the water felt great!

What a beautiful spot to enjoy the hot summer days. I love how flexible this site is for all campers. I also think this is a great spot for a family because of the flexibility of a few camp spots. The water is just as incredible as it looks and sounds amazing. It is chilly on cooler days but quite the spot on a hot day. So bring your floaties and a rope to keep you close. I know my dog sure loved it. The deck is a great feature and the campfire spot when fires are allowed. I recommend this site if you want to get your river camping vibe on as well as being so close to the beach! It is one for the books! As for the winter, this is a great getaway spot to be cozy and get some fresh air.

This spot exceeded our expectations. We absolutely loved being able to swim in the clear blue water and just relax in our hammock. We picked delicious blackberries nearby. The view was wonderful from the small deck and this spot was more secluded then we originally thought. Neighbors are near by, but we didn’t really notice that much. Having a bathroom and drinking water near by was a plus as well.
Camp Jade River was a breath of fresh air away from the hustle and bustle. The fire pit area is on a slight incline, but the patio is nice and flat, and there is plenty of room to do lots of cooking and cleaning. We caught and ate cutthroat trout right there at the campsite. It is a short drive to Jedediah Smith, and we enjoyed much hiking and fishing on our trip. We definitely plan to come back!
