Really cool spot! Great wildlife and view of the stars!! Made for a great weekend. Thanks for hosting us.

Watch where you walk and check your tires. Glass, rusted nails, sharps peices of metal, trash, and sharp metal springs/coils. Had to use my tire fix that came with my vehicle before leaving camp. I also had to pull a rusted nail out of my chacos. The picnic table listed is falling apart. There's a rotting tv stand dumped close to the communal fire pit. The fire pit was trashed out with glass and old debris.
It is not the place to get away from the noises of the city. The only part that makes it primative is that there is no facilities. The house that is 50 yards away is currently under construction. They start drilling and banging from 7:30am till sunset. So forget about that peaceful sunset. If you're a single woman, you'll be harrassed by hoots, hollers, and whistles...and the occasional "mamacita" as you bend down to make your fire to cook.
I asked Danny if he had another site i could tranfer too because i really needed to go somewhere peaceful. I drove 4 hours for this?! All i recieved was a sorry and that he didn't have any other sites. He states he didn't know there was contruction and that he hasnt been out to his property in a long time before that. I'm still trying to take that as a valid reason, but anyone in a business as this, should do his/hers due diligence and check their property frequently. Especially when renting a site for hotel prices. I did not recieve any discounted rate for the false advertisement and trouble. It was a fight with the construction crew just to get into the camp area. I also recieved a kayak that was banged up and a paddle that had loose peices. If anything, a discount for the kayaks would have made the stay somewhat worth it. For $170 i got a disappointing camp experience and a questionable kayak for two days. Also, the property is next to a very large marina. Be prepared for loud music, speeding boats, and people being obnoxiously loud. There will also be the nosey fisherman that decide to dock and make his way up to urinate or deficate....along with the dog. Occassionally one gets extra creepy and asks why your alone.
This property has so much potential!
This site is so incredible. The beautiful lake surrounds you on three sides and you are tucked into such a great little nook of the forest. There were animals playing all around. Can't wait to bring more friends back here the next time I'm around!

This site is absolutely stunning. Beautiful view of the lake and plenty of space. The dock is so nice to hang out on. Can’t recommend this spot more.

This is an amazing camping spot! There is beautiful water all around the peninsula and plenty of room for multiple tents. There is a cool dock that a couple people from our group hammocked on. There is also a huge fire pit and a picnic table. The only negative thing was the many many ticks at this campsite. We were constantly finding ticks on us and our stuff, but that is also just apart of being outside and camping. We would definitely go back! 👍

The site has really good potential, and we enjoyed our stay very much. The site could have been cleaner though as there was broken glass and rusted metal. Also the boat dock ladder was partially unscrewed from the dock. Other than that it is a beautiful place to stay!
We’ve stayed twice now and the best part- hands down- is the dock. The land itself is beautiful and finding the place was pretty easy. We opened the little gate and drove our truck in to make loading and unloading easier. The land doesn’t have many flat places, but we found enough for our tents. Had we had to share with someone it would have been a much more negative experience- and that is always a possibility. There’s not really room or privacy for two groups of people. The other downside is the ticks. I grew up in this area and have never seen ticks so bad. The land hasn’t been maintained well and there’s several down trees and limbs, along with a thick layer of leaves which is likely the reason for the heavy ticks.
The second time we stayed, we were kept up well into the night by a bar across the way. Nothing the host can do, but it was very inconvenient.
Very mixed reviews. It’s not often you can find a site like this; as the previous reviewer said it has a ton of potential, but is overall lacking. There was no construction and we never felt unsafe. Just not a good nights’ sleep and too many ticks!
Everything was great except for loud music coming from the nearby marina until about 11pm. Would definitely stay here again!
