Whispering Pines is a hidden gem in the middle of a part of Wisconsin that feels more like the Smoky Mountains than the upper Midwest. We were welcomed by Brandon, who was a fascinating person and recently chose the simpler life away from the city. He welcomed us campers into that slower lifestyle and the sites and ammenities were above average (outhouse, fire ring, picnic table, views!)

Beth and Pat were amazing hosts! Everything was excellent, very quiet, very secluded campground. My group had an excellent time for a weekend. Pleanty of hiking and trails for those who want it, or sit back in camp and relax with your friends and family. +1 wood on every site, +2 fire rings in place, +3 some groomed trails for those who don't want to forage on a walk. Just be aware, no internet is available and for us it was exactly what we wanted.

Healing Hills could be the best HipCamp spot in all of Wisconsin. The sites are incredibly well maintained, and Pat the host is exceptional. My family had a wonderful time in this part of Wisconsin.

It was a joy have you and your family at our property. It was reminiscent of our camping days with our kids. Please come back again and again!

Hands down one of the best experiences I have had as a camper. My brother and I were greeted by Beth & Pat when we arrived. They gave us a rundown of the campground, bathrooms, parking and trails. They are VERY friendly.

One of the feelings I got from Beth & Pat is that they are doing what they want to do. You could tell that they enjoyed having campers as guest, in my opinion the are what hospitality is all about. (They have a great dog, very friendly...I have forgotten the name, apologies).

The Site
We were in campsite #5. It is a beautiful site, well shaded and perfectly level for our 8 person tent. There is a fire ring with a tri-bar hanging grill if needed. There are even a few perfect trees to hang a hammock (use straps instead of ropes to protect the trees).

The Bathrooms (Out-House/Pit Toilet)
Pristine. Let me say the the term "pit-toilet" is very broad. This is more of a "non-flush bathroom" - If I were to give them a rating out of 5 Stars I would give them a 5. They are lighted, offer hand sanitizer, and WELL maintained. They are COVID friendly. We were assigned our own bathroom for our stay.

The Water
There is a water hose hooked up for shared use. We brought water in just in case, but there was no need. Water tasted perfect, no hose taste, easy to get to.

Firewood
We were generously given a free basket of wood to get our stay started, This was a 1st for me. I want to thank you for that. Additional firewood is available for a donation. They have an honor system setup. Firewood is work, make sure you donate appropriately and responsibly.

Onsite Trails
This to be is the crown jewel. They have trails right onsite to explore. The are well maintained and easy to follow. The best thing is, they are not crowded. The property is private so you only share with the other campers.

I hope that Beth & Pat stick around for a while. I bet they will if their experience is as good as the one they provide to all of us. Enjoy this stay, a place like this does not come often, let's get them to stick around a while!

I can't wait to bring my wife up here for another stay!

I would like to close by saying that I have been involved in adventure travel as a writer for Pixotrips and Trip Advisor for 4 years now. I have stayed at well over 100 different commercial, private, state and federal campgrounds and sites. This was a Top 5 Experience All Time.

Thank you so much, Michael. We love living here in the Driftless region, and our passion is to share this experience with others. We appreciate the time you took to detail the experience you had and that is our intent to provide all guests who venture out here for the beauty, peace and tranquility that is so needed, especially in these times. We look forward to seeing you again!

Beth and Pat were so nice and accommodating! I was nervous about bringing my rescue dog who’s scared of strangers but they were really understanding and gave us space. The sites are beautiful and you really feel like you’re in the middle of the forest. There are several walking trails around the property that are also beautiful and you can see cool rock formations. I’ve already recommended the site to several people and will continue to! Thanks Beth and Pat.

Beth and Pat were very accommodating and helpful hosts. They even offered us shelter in their shed to wait out the rain storm before pitching our tents. Everything at the campsite was clearly explained and easily accessible. Anything you'd need is at hand. It was so quiet and peaceful and an overall relaxing experience. The landscape is the area is beautiful and the campsite is convenient driving distance to Kickapoo Valley Reserve and Wildcat Mountain State Park. Highly recommend camping here, Beth and Pat are great hosts!
