What an amazing experience! Lynn and her husband Cory were extremely accommodating, and wonderful people to have shared their beautiful piece of property like this. I would definitely recommend the UTV trip down to the site, as it certainly wouldn't not be a simple hike down into the valley. We felt very much secluded down alongside the stream, and there is more than enough space to hike and wander around for hours. The fishing was great, and we did not struggle to catch some dinner for ourselves. Don't forget to stop at the vineyard down the road. I absolutely cannot wait to come back!!
Amazing camping experience for the whole family! Kids had endless hours of fun and exploring, on top of the fishing and swimming. Overall Beautiful land, secluded and well kept.
This place is a real hidden gem. Gorgeous, private, great fishing right from camp, and a babbling river and songbirds to wake up to. Ran into some deer flies and gnats, but surprisingly few mosquitoes, especially around camp. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
What a fantastic place, the photos don't do it justice. We had a great time (our dog did too!) - we were looking for a place to ourselves, where we didn't have to worry about a crowded campsite, and this place was perfect. The campsite is beautiful, very peaceful mornings along the river, and the hosts were fantastic! We had plenty of stacked firewood and they even let us borrow some bug spray in case the flys we're bad. We would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to get away!
The site is a wonderful escape from everything. Beautiful valley in the Driftless Area, trout stream, wild berries, and the thick surrounding forest that makes you feel a million miles away from the busy world. There’s great trees for hammocks too!
Cory and Lynn were great hosts! They meet us at the road to our private campground near their creek, and gave us and our gear a ride down! The site was clean and private with a fire pit. Perfect for hiking, wildlife watching, star-gazing and simply enjoying nature!
Our stay at Cory and Lynn’s secluded camp spot was great. We wanted to get away from the city and not be stacked on top of other Labor Day campers. This spot is very secluded and private, on a beautiful little patch of grass cleared along the Springville Branch of the Bad Axe River. Lots of trees, tall grass, flowers, and the sound of the water running over some rocks just upstream. Something to note: the camp spot is down in a valley/hollow and the trail that leads there is too rough and narrow for even a 4x4 truck/SUV to make it down and back up. If you are planning on hiking in/out, plan on 15-20 minutes each way. We had plenty of gear on this trip, so Lynn gave us a ride in her UTV on the first and last day, and we hiked out/in for the trips in between. A little extra effort, but totally worth it for the peace and quiet. Thanks Cory and Lynn!
