About Historic Heart of Cascadia
A stunning 1890s mountainside homestead in the heart of Cascadia. Cabins and camping for those who love rustic adventure and a journey back in time. Originally plotted at 100 acres, the property and area remain largely unchanged, with very few neighbors and is backed up against the North Cascades wilderness and close to Mt. Baker, the Salish Sea, and so much more. The historic Nooksack Valley gold mine trail abuts the property and there is adventure and wildlife upon stepping out of your cabin or tent. Special attention has been paid to creating an authentic rustic experience that feels as old as the original buildings that still stand on the property. Many tree varieties, a creek with swimming hole and incredible view from the back of the property are just some of the features of this special place.
Worldclass mountain and river sports at nearby Mt Baker. For urban excursions, we are 20 minutes from Bellingham, 1 hour from Vancouver BC, and 1.5 hours from Seattle WA. So much to see and do in and around the area. We also offer guided interpretive hikes through the wilderness adjacent to the property.

This place was absolutely amazing! The cabin we stayed in was a perfect place to hang out and rest for the night. The host is extremely nice and knowledgeable about the land and history of the property! He showed us around all the cabins he has built out of reclaimed materials and told us of his future plans. It is just a short drive into town where you can grab some food and the surrounding areas are very beautiful. I definitely recommend going here! Can't wait to go back myself!
Reg and Jesse were great hosts at this fun rustic Homestead :-)
It's a wonderful experience to wake up to nature from a log cabin. Here are some great hikes in the areas including a lusious forest up to 'gold mine trail'.
We had cosy beds and warm diners around a wood burning stove. Great conversations too. Highly recommend!
