Nestled in-between the Olympic mountains and the Straits of Juan de Fuca, Sunny View Meadows enjoys the benefits of being in the "rain-shadow" of the Pacific Northwest. The Straits of Juan de Fuca were named in 1787 by the maritime fur trader Charles William Barkley, captain of the Imperial Eagle, for Juan de Fuca, the Greek navigator who sailed in a Spanish expedition in 1592 to seek the fabled Strait of Anián. *Wikipedia

Host responsive but we didn't meet. Beautiful view. Site was weed-wacked with tall sharp grass and thorns. Ground very uneven, watch for ruts and holes. Only paid $10 for mid-week but probably wouldn't stay again. Property has a lot of potential with some ground work.

This is a small mowed field between 2 houses in a rural area. Its a fine campsite if not looking for any bells and whistles at all. Some positives include easy to find, beautiful view, and responsive host. Negatives include highway noise during the day, mosquitoes in the evening, and sharp grass not friendly for sensitive tents. In sum, this is a good spot for a brief stop overnight.

We couldn’t stay
The view at Sunny View Meadows was spectacular, and Carmen a most welcoming host. Sadly, though I had asked specifically about staying there with a teardrop trailer, the place was not suitable for us. The driveway was hard to enter (steep ditches on both sides), the site was uneven, with lumps and hillocks and rocks and a pipe that made navigation tricky and a level spot impossible. Grass was ankle high and sharp, which hid the divots and would make tent camping tough. Maybe a larger RV could manage (not sure, never having been in one). Carmen says she plans to flatten the area and flag the driveway which will go a long way to making the site work. And she was quick and responsive with a refund.

We had a change of plans and didn’t actually stay. We did visit the site and it was as represented. We would reserve here again.
