Ever pay for camping and be stuck 5 ft away from another large, loud and obstructive RV. Ya so did we! Our family including a one year old and yellow lab since looked to camp far away from others as possible (backing packing has been harder w/ the 1 yr old). We knew as soon as we heard of this concept that this is something we would want to share. The land is new to our family and we are in the development and dream phase. Please check back for a working farm in years to come. But in the mean time this is such as special place with views and access we wanted to share it! So come. Camp away from all the other crowds and enjoy your icicle river float, enchantment hike or eastern cascade mountain bike. Or at least try a brat and beer!

Icicle Basecamp
The site was as described and in a great location. However, apparently there was a miscommunication between the host and his wife who did not know this site was listed on hipcamp or had been rented during our reservations. Long story short, we woke up to a sheriff one morning having been reported as trespassers. We sorted it all out, but it was pretty upsetting to be disturbed and accused when we had ample proof that we were in the right. I understand miscommunications and it sounds as though this site won't be available in the future. It did work out for us to stay, however we may have been the last guests! Beautiful property though.

This is an incredible spot--centrally located to many incredible trails and just a few minutes' drive to downtown Leavenworth. The neighbors who own the lot next to this one have a donkey, a horse, two cows, and an older chocolate lab who came over to greet us (and a new puppy, who we caught a glimpse of in the car :). The mountain views are lovely, and you can hear coyotes, frogs, geese, and birds. There were deer that came into the field to graze at sunset (and the neighbors told us there can be elk as well, though we didn't see any). Our dog LOVED it--she loves exploring and tromping through fields. FYI--you can't take dogs into the Enchantments, but we found plenty of similar hikes that allowed dogs. We ended up doing a day hike at Mt. Edna/Chatter Creek that was spectacular and not too far to drive. There's also a ranger station in downtown Leavenworth where I'm sure you can ask questions about specific things to do (they are closed on Sundays, so we didn't end up getting to utilize this, but good to know for the future!). There are houses across the road, so the lot is not as secluded as other places we've camped previously (i.e. you may want to venture into town for going #2). If you are bringing a camp stove, I would also suggest bringing a table or something to elevate it. The grass wasn't super-dry this early in the summer, but brushfires are a definite concern.

This spot is so beautiful! Its got a wonderful view of the mountains. It's a very large lot so even though you're right on the road you feel somewhat secluded. We had a lot of fun running around and having staring contests with the cute donkey in the neighbors yard. It was a very short drive into town where we checked out all the shops and got some delicious gelato! There are even some trails to explore right from town and larger day hikes nearby! The spot is perfect for Rv's to pull into for the night. Keep in mind there is no bathroom, it is just a lot. If you put up a tent I would definitely suggest putting a tarp under because the grass was very pokey!!
