The Natural Stone Amphitheater
Not the normal hipcamp experience
The camp spot is a flat area that looks to have been an overgrown field that was recently cut back. But there were sticker bushes all throughout that kept poking us and tripping us up.
When we arrived, there was a vehicle parked at the gate, so I couldn't get into the camp site with my gear until i found a way to 4-wheel it over a pile of dirt adjacent to it.
Once inside, there was a 40 foot trailer in the site. We didn't know if it was occupied or just parked there, but it kinda killed the "isolated" vibe. Would talking disturb them? If I got out and peed at night, would my flashlight disturb them?
There is a broken down shed next to the camping area {marked off with orange spray paint on the ground}. The shed must have had something die inside of it, because the smell coming out of it was horrible. Even walking in the vicinity was bad.
It was nice that the spot is behind a gate, and the tiny creek running nearby is great for atmosphere. But the neighbors dogs barking killed that vibe too.
Not my favorite hipcamp experience, but maybe I'm picky. It was nice to have a spot to park and sleep for the night. 50 bucks may be a lot to ask for this space. I wouldn't stay again if I had other options nearby.
Host was receptive by text and helpful with directions.

The Natural Stone Amphitheater
The spot was good. There were lots of places to explore as it connected with logging roads. The neighbor showed us a good place to swim. There is a house next door and while we could not really see it, they were doing construction so it was kind of loud. If you had a tent or van you could camp at the top of the property which is more secluded and quiet. All in all it was good.

The Natural Stone Amphitheater
Beautiful off grid camping spot
Beautiful raw land site to test out our self contained camping van. There were some neighbors that came into the main grassy field to target shoot for an hour but other than that we felt pretty remote and peaceful with no one around. We spent a lot of time at the top at the viewpoint and there were many birds and wildflowers and a great valley view of the fireworks from the surrounding area during the 4th of July weekend we were there. We would love to stay there again!
