This place was great! Our hosts were super nice people. The lake was fantastic, we spent basically the entire day floating.
Not quite as private as I expected but did not impact our time at all
Best of the best
Short version: Best camping experience to date, highest recommendation possible!
Long version: Let me start with the hosts, they are they kindest, friendliest people! They go out of their way to ensure they are providing everything listed on the app as stated. We ordered the firewood package and never once needed to ask for more firewood. We also appreciated the s’mores package as we had forgotten our things for that as well. As for the property, it is beautiful and relaxing! The small lake was very enjoyable to float on and fishing looked great as well. As we were on site two we enjoyed the forestry area and were approximately 50-75yards from the household. Which was no problem for us or the hosts. Site one Is further away from the household in a field type area also overlooking the lake.
We brought our dogs, and I haven’t seen them happier. The hosts were okay with them off leash. I would’ve had no problem using the leashes I brought if the other site also had dogs.
They have made a perfect sized beach with nice sand in the middle of the two sites which was also very enjoyable. They have canoes and a paddle boat on site as well. The shower was awesome being outside but still private. (After needing a small explanation on operation) and was nice to have available private toilets.
The property has an interesting history which we found out about from the hosts who we spoke with one of the afternoons. The only “negative” thing would have been a few ticks... that being said, the hosts already had a few plans for eliminating them around the sites. All in all, we had the best time during our visit and recommend this 100%!
This was my first camping outing and it was a wonderful one! There are several areas where you can set up your tent, which was nice to have options. We chose an area that was in between trees and away from the hosts home (we wanted to feel secluded and get the whole camping experience) We had unlimited access to swimming and canoeing-my husband and I def took advantage to this! The hosts were great, super friendly and welcoming-Mrs. Kirsten was sweet and brought us a delicious treat before we left. I would like to mention that we brought my dog along and we did not see any ticks on him or ourselves either. Only thing I would add is to bring foldable table if you’re able as there weren’t any. Otherwise a wonderful experience!!
This was our best camping experience by far. My girlfriend and I came with our small dog, arriving on Tuesday night and were welcomed by Dale and Kirstin, who provided us with everything we could possibly need and more. They were fun to be around and also gave us as much privacy as we needed, and made some excellent suggestions for things to do. They let us use their canoes whenever we wanted and there was a fire made every night. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to meet some great and enjoy themselves at a beautiful private lake, we will be back!
Also Michael (our dog) wanted to let all the other dogs know that this place is the woofing best.
Perfect lakeside experience!
Perfect trip! Everything about this trip was better than we expected. The lake is very swimmable with a good sized little beach that's perfect for sitting, wading, or watching the sunset. Hosts are amazing - so welcoming, kind, helpful, and told us the story of their whole family living around the lake and their lifetimes there. We were lucky enough to have a great pair of campers on site with us, and their dog and ours had a blast running, swimming, and playing with eachother. We took a spin around the lake in the host's canoe, they helped us light a fire after the wood got wet from rain, and even brought us chocolate chip cookies as we chatted over coffee in the morning. Truly, can't ask for more than that. Thank you!
Relaxing time at the lake
It was wonderful. Awesome host and amazing place. We enjoyed it so much. This place is peaceful and we had a relaxing time taking in the beautiful view, fishing, canoeing, and roasting marshmallows over the wonderful campfires the host made. We would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely be back.
