All of the land on the gravel road in which we live was at one time a large operating farm. The original farmhouse is still present at the end of the gravel road. In recent years the farm land was sub divided. My husband Jacob and I purchased this piece of property 8 years ago. We absolutely love it here and this land is our own slice of paradise. We have 13 acres of private seclusion with a quiet and peaceful creek spot for camping on the back side of our property. We love having a place where we feel we can be away from it all! Also at the same time we are only a short drive away from downtown Lynchburg as well as quick access to route 460. We enjoy that we can get on the river quickly and we frequently take advantage of the beauty of kayaking the James River. Together Jacob and I find tranquility while camping and exploring new places. We are excited to share our slice of heaven with you and meet people who share our love for the great outdoors. :)This is a quiet, serene spot where you will not be disturbed. We have a fire pit and tent camping right beside the creek. There is plenty of room for two tents and some hammocks. Our property is 13 acres (which you are welcome to explore) and behind our property is a field with cattle. We are only a 5 minute drive from the James River and the 6 mile bridge put in for launching kayaks/canoes. It is very easy to do a day float on the James River from this camp spot.  Great hiking is nearby and downtown Lynchburg is only 15 minutes away. Liberty University is 12 minutes away. For four wheel drive vehicles parking is approximately 50 yards from the camp site. For two wheel drive vehicles parking is approximately 75 yards from the camp site. Bathroom: We use a bucket with padded seat, trash bag with cat litter. We dispose of the materials once camping is over. Note: a tent is not provided for you. You must bring your own tent and camping gear. Also please ensure to follow all burn ban regulations.

Such a cute little spot! Very private and secluded, but not too far from civilization to be scary lol. Our dog loved splashing around in the creek, and the running water was a very peaceful noise to fall asleep to. While we didn't end up needing the host for anything, she was very kind, sent us well wishes, and assured us she'd be available if we had any questions. The site is at the bottom of a hill, which ended up being ~10 degrees cooler than at the top of the hill. I bet that's great in the summer, but be wary in the spring (we went in April) as it can be pretty chilly!

Sarah was a wonderful host! Her spot is perfect for tent camping! We camped in our van and made that work as well. The land was beautiful! If you camp in a vehicle you can see the hosts home however we still had complete privacy!

Great little creek for little ones
Overall, we had a great time. Pros: plenty of solitude, creek is perfect for toddlers and kids as it’s only a few inches deep and you can walk right in, host very accommodating with a compost toilet and kindling, plenty of room for my 6 man tent, and lots of trees for a hammock. Fireflies in the field nearby were awesome and plenty of darkness to enjoy the stars. Cons: The hill to get down to the camp site is a little devious, it’s a bit of hike. Careful bringing too much stuff and bring a collapsible cart if you have one. Definitely a wooded area with a grass field nearby so we found a lot of ticks. Again, the kids loved it and we enjoyed our stay.

Creek side camping!
Loved staying at the field of dreams. Courtney and her husband were great host. The property was easy to find for us. Be sure to read the instructions. We had a small hike down a semi-steep hill and it rested at a cute creek with beautiful water sounds and a great spot to pitch our tents. The fire pit was nice to close out the evening with. I'd stay again if in the area.

Quiet, isolated, with a pleasant site next to a slowly flowing stream. Host was fantastic and responsive.
