Spacious sites along the Winooski River, or come find a private nook tucked up in the apple orchard, next to the plum tree by the pond, or in the high meadow.

Camping at Onion River is respectful and kind, and we generally have loads of fun! Good people, hot showers, full hookups (water, electric & septic), walking trails, swimming access in the river and at Paradise Falls. Gorgeous foliage. Open May-October.

We are a public campground, and we host community and private events throughout the season. Your camping trip during one of our events may be the highlight of your summer!

Hipcamper Bryan

Beautiful spots next to the water and ample grounds to explore. Enjoy the apple orchard, hike up to the tree lined rail bed, or go dip your toes in the river. Relaxed and fun hosts give this place a great vibe!

Hipcamper Samantha

Easy going hosts! Can go bathing in the river or hike along many trails nearby

Hipcamper Patrick

Great experience, beautiful spot to camp on the edge of the running water. Highly recommended.

Hipcamper Meighan

Very nice people, greeted us upon arrival. They even let us pick our site! Not quite what was advertised, not all sites were equipped with regular electricity (most were for RV), firewood was not free, no picnic table at our site. Sites were also quite close to each other. Positives: laid back atmosphere, the bathrooms were decent, the property is beautiful and the site is very affordable. The hosts were more than happy to meet our requests and I would definitely stay again.

Hipcamper Evelyne

Warm welcome by the owners. The site is a large open field of grass, perfect for any tent or RV, but without any privacy. The fire wood isn't free as written here. The toilets are disgusting, no maintenance at all.

Hipcamper Rachel

Adorable little campground with nice bathrooms. The hosts are wonderful! There is some noise from the main road but the beautiful river makes up for it.
