Wildlife Camping at Sol Canyon
Great!!!
Beautiful Canyons...there are houses that can be seen from campsite..however they are not close enough to be any issue.
Wildlife Camping at Sol Canyon
The view and the air were pleasant.
It turns out 4WD is not strictly necessary to get into and out of the canyon - I didn't risk it with my minivan, but I saw several others cars, including pickup trucks that probably had rear 2WD do fine. Nobody had any trouble that I could see.
Shade is not very available. We were at Site #4, which had good shade from one tree in the evening. Site #2 was pretty attractive from what I could see just walking around.
Be careful about going off the trails - I saw a snake that was probably a Western Diamondback, about 3 ft long.

Hike-in Camping at Sol Canyon
Great spot ! Very unique, isolated and private , more fun in a 4wd vehicle then 2wd but not a bad jaunt to campsite. Will return on my next trip for sure

Beautiful views
Just as expected - the land was great. It didn't feel like we were in between two neighborhoods (but we did hear a wedding dance party happening in the distance one night). Felt secluded. Felt safe because of the locked fence/gate around the land. AWD is recommended, though we did see a small Honda Civic make the drive down and up. It's about a 15-20 minute drive to Palo Duro State Park. We highly recommend the jacuzzi.

Wildlife Camping at Sol Canyon
The site was just what we expected. Lindsay was very responsive and the directions were great. We have a suburu outback and didn't have any trouble at all getting to the site. A pretty place to camp near Amarillo!
