Creek-side private picnic/campground hideaway available. This a "want to camp" campground. If you "need to camp" due to financial or other reasons, Camp EZ will likely not be a good fit for you. Not suitable for children 8 or younger. Please include your child 8 and older in your count. Sites include 2 persons. Additional fee for extra folks after the 2.
Community vibe 'round here; everyone expected to be respectful of one another and clean up after themselves "leave no trace" style. One week maximum stay.
Bring a tent and gear to be comfortable. 2 private hot outdoor showers, rustic kitchen and charming compost privy included. Wood fired sauna available. Street parking. We have carts to tote your load. Visitors are expected to clean up after themselves especially in the kitchen, showers, restroom and, of course, your campsite. Trash and recycle containers are around or, better yet, pack it out! Campfires in designated area only with permission (burn ban sometimes). Bring firewood.
I have a 2 acre community on a secret and secluded little street 5 miles due South of the capitol of TX and even closer (2.5) to the very hip SoCo area (Continental Club, Jo's Coffee, Guero's Taco Bar, El Mercado and lots more). I have 3 cats, 11 chickens, 13 ducks, a little donkey and 7 sweet mini goats here at my little and funky 'farmette' right on Williamson Creek and next to a huge wooded greenbelt with a quiet and unused nature trail. Lots of remodeling and flood related cleanup chaos here but also lots of pretty and secluded nature. Short walk to bus stop and historic Hills Cafe and Austin Bergstrom Airport is 9 easy highway miles away. Rustic outdoor shower/kitchen/privy. BYOTent. No wild or excessive partying here please and please remember: no smoking :)

The vibe at CampEZ in SxSAustin
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
CampEZ is so close to downtown Austin! This would be a great place to stay with a little bit bigger group during ACL or SXSW. It has a fun, laid-back atmosphere, with a definite Austin/eclectic-vibe. We enjoyed it.
Jim has a great funky little community here, it is quiet and peaceful even though it is so close to the city. The area is well-maintained with simple hot showers, running water, and even access to a kitchen.
CampEZ is a fantastic place to come pitch your tent and enjoy Austin at an affordable price while having a rich experience at the property. Jim keeps the property well-maintained and provides all of the amenities you need for your stay (an outhouse, showers, sauna, community kitchen, gazebo where you you can have access to wifi, etc.). It is a fun and unique atmosphere with eclectic and hand-built touches that exudes the love and care that has gone into creating a warm and welcoming community. Fran, the cats, and her chickens and ducks, are delightful to hang out with in the morning by the community kitchen.
Very laid back camping experience right by downtown Austin. Easily accessible and includes a number of amenities including a shared space kitchen and shower facility. There seemed to be other people camping at the same time as us, but we were still able to enjoy privacy. Both nights we stayed we heard two barred owls caterwauling back and forth. It was beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely recommend staying here so long as you don't mind camping in a small, operational community!
A lot of folks wonder where the "Weird" in Austin went to after the 1970's passed and an influx of Yankees moving to town changed the culture, along with redevelopment and gentrification of some of the capital's most iconic neighborhoods.
Look no further than Jim's commune for all the Weird you can get -- and for $20 a night for out-of-towners wanting to experience the gamut in Austin, that's not a bad deal at all. However: Most camp sites are within 20 yards from each other, and privacy is second to the communal experience. With DIY projects strewn about and a number of long-term residents in trailers on site, you might be better served getting a little further outside ACL if peace & quiet is your thing.
