Dan was a great host and I enjoyed hearing the history of the land that has been in his family for a few generations. The Hawk's Nest was a great little retreat out in the woods for the night and I would highly recommend it. The space has been well thought out and has everything you need to enjoy your stay. You'll enjoy the quiet of the woods and the beautiful views and wish you didn't have to leave. You're only a few miles from Burgess Falls which is a must visit while in the area.

I am almost hesitant to leave a review, as this place feels like a well-kept secret. Tucked away in the back of Dan's beautiful farm, the Hawk's Nest is a temple of rest and relaxation.
The host, Dan, could not be any nicer, and went above and beyond in his efforts to provide a comfortable environment for his campers. A makeshift kitchen is on-site, fully equipped with a small gas stove, utensils, water, and accouterment. The adjacent bar provides the perfect location to sip a beverage, read a book, and take in the creek. You can end your days inside the screened-in bedroom, letting the sounds of the night (or, in our case, rain on the roof) sing you to sleep. Dan even provided a portable hammock that we could take to the top of the hill to stargaze.
In summary, if you are a lover of things secluded, relaxing, and well-made, you will not be disappointed with the Hawk's Nest.
We will be back very soon!! They were so nice and even gave us some eggs for breakfast since we forgot ours. Asked for 4-5 and we got 8! The hawks nest is in between camping and glamping and just what we needed!
What a great find! Peaceful, beautiful and a great place to wake up in! Dan is a perfect host! The value was perfect!
The Hawks nest far exceeded our expectations. We were looking for an escape from the stress of the holidays and got so much more! This is the place to go if you need a reboot! We were anticipating a cold weekend but to our surprise Dan and his wife had a gas fireplace waiting for us to keep us warm! Such an unexpected treat! Dan also let us explore his beautiful property and the dogs and adventure cat Bean were the best tour guides anyone could ask for! I hesitate to decribe how perfect this place is if you love to connect to nature Bc I don't want the secret to get out! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful hidden gem. Wonderful hosts. No doubt about it U HAVE TO GIVE IT A CHANCE. Son and i hiked the rolling hills, explored the creek, built campfires. Had a blast. Will definitely be back!!!

A wonderful place to stay. Jo (Dan's wife) was so kind and accommodating and the site itself was quite magical. Has everything you need for a nice getaway, but you never feel removed from nature. Would highly recommend this place to anyone, such a cozy and beautiful delight.
The place is so cool. Great rustic outdoor setting but with a comfy bed. Creek is great for the dog to cool off in the summer. The owners Dan & his wife are very nice.
