This was a great camp site! Definitely primitive, but we love that. The best thing is that it sits right off a quaint little road beside a creek, but it’s also very convenient to Knoxville. Kat was a wonderful host.
Very quiet and secluded! Primitive like the other reviews said which is what we like! It was a very peaceful camping trip with the creek right behind us! We had a great time!
Oh, the fireflies!
We only stayed one night but we spent a lovely evening camp-cooking and gazing at the fire and the fireflies around us. Although it’s a basic site, Kay had clearly done a lot of work to make the field perfect for us to set our tent - she had mowed a large circle . However, most of the the meadow was left untouched and so we were surrounded by beautiful nature from all sides
We got to the campsite which was not maintained. We didn’t even know if that was the correct campsite. I called Kate and left a message to call us back ASAP. Never heard back from her. I paid for firewood. I didn’t see any at the campsite which was over grown with weeds. There was s pill of old wet wood. On the website it looked like it was kept up. Since she never called or texted back we left. No way were we staying there. Lost money on that. Never again. Such a shame because we love to camp. Waste of time!!!!
Camped here 3 days. Came down to mountain bike the Urban Wilderness trails. Water source and portable bathroom were both like new. The camp is beautiful and peaceful. One caveat: the entire front meadow is full of poison ivy. There is always some in a primitive camp like this, but there was an awful lot everywhere, so be careful. I did see an otter swimming in the stream, so that was pretty cool.
If you keep your eyes open, you may spot otters in the stream. Pretty cool.
