Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
We have a 50 acre elevated bush block with space for approximately 80 people with tents, camper trailers or caravans. We have a range of different sites with two main camping areas and many smaller semi isolated spots. Caravans are best set up on the lower campground where the main view is, and we send noisier groups in tents or swags to our upper campground. If you want to be away from the main groups you can choose one of the quieter spots. There is a council maintained 2 km gravel road which provides access & most vehicles can make it here reliably in any weather. Please note that you are unlikely to make it up our road due to the lack of grip on the gravel if you have a front wheel drive vehicle with any significant sized trailer. Our campgrounds can also be very slippery if wet but dry out within a few hours. WE ASK OUR CAMPERS TO BRING A TOILET IF THEY'RE STAYING MORE THAN ONE NIGHT. We now sell bagged firewood for $20/ 20kg and fill LPG bottles, cash only. We're happy for campers to gather firewood from the bush around the campgrounds, bring your preferred method of cutting it. We are dog friendly but ask that campers keep their pets on a lead to stop them wandering onto adjacent properties or chasing our wildlife. The camping area has no amenities, however it shares a spectacular view south across the QLD/NSW border from 300 meters above sea level, with Mt. Maroon 6 km away. Also visible are Mt. Barney and Mt. Lindsay. The nearest toilets and showers are at Maroon Dam or Rathdowney, 15mins away. The local area has a tourism focus with plenty of opportunities to explore the Scenic Rim. Mt. Maroon and Mt. Barney offer walking trails to the top, Lake Moogera and Maroon Dam are not far away for jetskis, kayaking and swimming and we also have several eateries within 25 minutes. Scenic Rim website has more details. Dog friendly. We have an abundance of wildlife from Wedge Tailed Eagles to Bettongs and Koala. We also get some dangerous snakes and 2.5mt Lace Monitors (Goannas). I often have campers bring telescopes and big cameras to take advantage of the long range views and dark night sky. Kids are classed as age 10 and under. If aged 11 and over, please book at adult rate.

Tranquil Mountain Haven
The host's communication and directions to the site were crystal clear. Although I didn't have an extensive chat with the host, my camp mate did and praised him as a top bloke. He came across as friendly and accommodating, allowing me to arrive late and offering helpful recommendations. The dirt road to the lower campground required some skill for 2WD vehicles, but it's manageable and nothing too bad. The drive in and out though was simply stunning! The campsite follows a choose-your-own-adventure style, and we opted for the upper campground, which proved to be wonderfully tranquil and secluded. We didn't hear a single other soul. The spacious layout of the upper campground was serene, and we also ventured to the lower campground by foot to catch the stunning morning hues. Despite the absence of a sunrise view, the pink and purple hues, along with the shadow playing over the mountains, were breathtaking. I can only imagine the spectacular sunset this spot offers. Yet, the ultimate gem was beyond the gate up from the bitumen, as the host had hinted. A brief 10-minute walk unveiled a tiny opening revealing a panoramic 180-degree view of the entire ridgeline—an utterly breathtaking sight. I'm already planning to return and set up a chair there; the tranquility is unmatched! I'm certain I'll revisit this beautiful spot at some point; those mountain vistas are truly captivating, and the hospitality of the host makes this spot a lovely getaway from the daily grind.

We stayed 7 nights at this spot, and it was incredible! You have two options of spots (the lower or the higher campground). We stayed on the lower campground, because the view of the mountains there is amazing! It’s quite overgrown on the upper campground however you can still see sections of the mountains (upper level is best for bigger groups) We had zero issues, Peter the host was very accommodating, lots of wildlife around, able to collect firewood from around the property, and the trip into town (and toilets) is only 15 minutes. This spot is perfect for a few nights to get in to nature and just look out at the mountains 10/10 would stay again Thanks! Tash + Gomez (@salty_nav)

Great views! Close to Mt Maroon for a day hike. Take earplugs for the early morning rooster alarm clock!

Amazing views!
An absolutely amazing spot. Stayed in top of the Ridge and loved every moment of it. Breathtaking views, plenty of fire wood and an abundance of wildlife. We stayed for 3 nights with 3 young children and they had a blast. Definitely a spot you have to check out 👌
