Summer is beautiful around here, everything is in full bloom, crops are getting high and are already abundant. And the new animals that were born in the spring are up and about.

There are many hiking trails all around as well as 2 pinnacles overlooking the Susquehanna river where eagles love to nest. The river is a short 2 miles away where you can kayak or fish. There is also a very large lake in a beautiful park where you can hike, picnic, fish, kayak and canoe. And plenty of playgrounds around for the kiddos.

Come enjoy a few days in the hills of the Susquehanna river, amongst the Amish and the fresh air.

This is a nice private well cleared campsite on the property of a very nice friendly couple. Short walk from driveway to campsite. Totally private. Fire ring already supplied w kindling and tons of firewood nearby. Owners have several cats some of which are very friendly and inquisitive but largely left us alone. Kelly’s Run nearby was an awesome beautiful moderately difficult hike. If you like road riding, this area is perfect for you. Huge rolling hills though not much in the way of shoulder. Discovered a rail trail about 20 minutes away near the Turkey Hill Campus. Was beautiful! We will definitely return.

Nice site tucked behind the owner's house and a thick area of trees providing privacy. Overall comparable to camping at a State Park camping loop, it comes with a brick fire ring with a grill rack, picnic table, and some logs to sit on. You will know other people are around and you can hear some traffic, but it still feels secluded and private once you settle in around the fire.
Great hiking and/or overlooks of the river at Kelly’s Run, Muddy Run, or Susquehannock State Park all of which are only a few minutes away. Also, the Enola Low Grade Trail is close if you want a to go for a walk/run/cycle on an even surface away from traffic. Susquehannock State Park has multiple loops of varying degrees of difficulty and lots of nice scenery, so you can cater to your hiking ability.

You get pretty used to the Luggable Loo pretty fast (bucket with kitty litter and a toilet seat) but if you really want a flushable toilet once in a while there are restrooms at the grocery store or Susquehannock State Park both of which are only 10 minutes away.

There are a lot of cats and a friendly dog that may come by once in a while, but it was not bothersome. However considering the area’s many horses traveling on the local roads and some of the hiking trails, as well as the animals near the camp site, remember to check your shoes for surprises before you hop back in the car!

Lots of nearby farm stands for fresh produce, dairy, and meat , Maplehofe Dairy was a great stop for icecream and whoopie pies after hiking.

Eric and Donna were wonderful hosts, communicative before the stay and Donna was there to show us around at check-in and had the golf cart available if we needed to get the camping gear the short way to the camp site.

Enough space for two tents (and some rain)!Pleasant farm across the road.Curious local visitor.

This was a great weekend retreat for my pregnant wife and myself. The hosts were great, greeted us at arrival and helped us unload our gear with their golf cart.

We were given the choice of two campsites and choose the one in the pictures after a property tour. Both sites were private and quiet.

Kelly's Run was a great trail for us and less than four minutes away.

We definitely enjoyed our weekend stay at this campsite. Donna and Eric were very friendly and helpful, even offering tips on local attractions prior to our arrival. This is not a drive-up campsite, but it was only a 1-minute walk to the site from the driveway and our hosts helped us load up their golf cart when we arrived to bring our gear to the site. We enjoyed meeting their sweet dog and many cats who wandered by from time to time. We also loved how secluded the site felt -- it's surrounded by trees (bring insect repellent!) and looks just like the pictures! We recommend checking out the Pinnacle Overlook nearby -- the view of the river is just stunning and there are plenty of picnic tables if you want to stay for lunch like we did. Thank you Donna and Eric for a great stay!

Staying at River Hills Hideaway was a wonderful experience. The hosts are among the kindest in the world and will go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. The camping sites were clean and equipped with a picnic table, campfire grill, water source, and primitive bathroom/shower. The property is beautiful so make sure you take some time to explore and pick wild raspberries. It is also fully fenced in leaving you worry free if you are bringing along your pups for your stay. You will also be close to a variety of activities just minutes away. You will not regret staying at River Hills Hideaway!

Loved our stay! Eric & Donna were so warm and welcoming, they both just made everything incredibly easy and enjoyable. This was our first experience with Hipcamp so couldn't be more pleased. Thank you for all the extras too, River Hills Hideaway! From the sweet space furnished with plenty of shade and firewood to the private outdoor bathroom and shower provisions. The darling cats were enjoyable as well. We can't wait to book our next stay. Thank you!!

Eric and his wife (and their dog Maverick) are absolutely amazing! My girlfriend and I stayed for 5 days at the lower campsite (there are 2 options to choose from). The site had a great setup with grill grate for cooking over the fire, a picnic table, and plenty of tree cover for shade. A very short walk away on property there is a water well and also a poptent bathroom/shower with a luggable loo for non #1. The property is about 7 mins from the nicest Giant I've ever seen and a beer distributor. About 10 mins away you hit Susquehannock park with multiple overviews overlooking the river, as well as a few swimming holes. Downtown Lancaster is also only a 25-30 min drive. Lots of good restaurants, boutiques, and a great farmers market 3 days a week. We had an amazing and relaxing time while still enjoying a few amenities like potable water. Eric is also the man! He loves Big Lebowski more than me somehow. We will definitely be returning and bringing friends to camp on the upper site (big enough for 8 people). Plenty of firewood! Couldn't have been happier with our stay, and the value provided! Thank you Eric! We'll bring you Sarcone's bread next time we visit!
