On our 65+ Acre Campground in Madras, Oregon We’ve opened 65+ acres of our Madras, OR farm to travelers from near and afar to provide a super clean, extremely organized and totally awesome campground experience to witness the 2017 Solar Eclipse in Totality! The Sunset Solar Campground is the best place to see the eclipse because we are in the Path of Totality. We’re located 2 miles west of Madras’ City Center offering 2 minutes and 2 seconds of Solar Eclipse Totality! And amazing sunsets to boot. Sun + Moon + You + Our Campground = Amazing!An experience like this comes around every 20 years (give or take). So, let’s make this one ahhhhh-mazing together! We're offering 5 Nights and 6 Days of Sun, Moon, Stars, Sunsets Galore and Solar Totality Starting Thursday August 17th, spend five nights and six days camping under the brilliant Central Oregon stars. Wake up with the sun. Watch the sun set behind Mt Jefferson. Take moonlit walks. Enjoy the nightly Perseid meteor shower (talk about a bonus!). And, on Solar Eclipse Day, Monday, August 21st, experience the natural phenomenon of a lifetime – Total Solar Eclipse 2017 at Sunset Solar Campground. Chill out and bask in the moment through Tuesday (August 22nd) afternoon to extend the experience one more day, not to mention catch up on some ZZZs after a weekend full of Solar excitement.

Sunset Solar Tent Campground

The Sunset Solar Campground was a wonderful way to watch the eclipse. We came in with low expectations given the conditions we saw at other campsites - crowded, loud, with few amenities. We were given plenty of space for our group of 6, the hosts were very accomodating, and they had a ton of excellent amenities - including clean bathrooms! Very enjoyable experience overall.
