Beautiful camping on the trask
Amazingly beautiful spot on the Trask River. Could not have asked for a better place to spend the 4th of July holiday. Private and secluded with great fishing at your doorstep. Bob and Carmen were great and everything was spotless and clean. Just as described. Would stay again in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, already booked our next trip.
Great getaway, comfy bed!
Really lovely and well kept spot. Shallow creek next to the space creates a lovely sound and you can stick your toes in the water. The bed was surprisingly comfortable! There was a clean bathroom and a shower area, a Really fire pit and the scenery was lovely. Just FYI it did not smell like a normal ranch. We had a great time and would recommend this spot for a get away.
Beautiful longhorn ranch
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL property. We woke up surrounded by longhorns and the sound of a peaceful creek running through the property. Carmen is a phenomenal host and makes sure you have everything you need before she heads back. She even started a fire for us and left us with firewood. They have a HOT shower, comfy bed, and the fisherman’s cabin was super cozy. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.
We were a group of 5 adults and 2 dogs with 3 vehicles, as one of the members in our party had to drive down later due to work obligations. When making our reservation, I noticed there was a 2 car maximum on the drop down menu for this campsite. I messaged the host to ask if we could possibly bring 3 vehicles and I got an immediate response accommodating this request.
Finding this property was a little challenging, as is mentioned in the listing. GPS will get you close to the location but make sure to follow the host's directions... We followed the provided directions but it should have said turn right rather than left. We arrived prior to sunset, which made figuring things out a bit easier than if it were already dark so keep this in mind.
Upon arrival, our host Bob met up with us to greet and show us around the campsite. He was very friendly and welcoming. We booked the cabin, which from the outside may look a bit shabby, but was nice on the inside. It was my friend's first time camping so it was ideal to have a cabin just in case she did not want to sleep outside in a tent. We set up two tents and had plenty of space. We ended up primarily using the cabin for storage.
The toilet and shower area was clean. It was great to have access to hot water. The only downside was that some water pooled right in front of the toilet, which made using it a bit tricky if you did not want to get your feet wet.
On this property there are two campsites. The night we stayed another couple and their dog were staying at the neighboring site. The distance between the sites are pretty good and although we could see them, we did not hear them. We just had to share the toilet and shower area but this was not a problem at all.
Our stay was fantastic. I am originally from Hawai'i and have never really seen a clearer sky since moving to the mainland. The sound of the running water from the creek/stream was tranquil. Our group made a campfire (Bob and Carmen provided us with ample wood) and talked story all night. I would not say this was true camping but our entire party really enjoyed this place. We felt very comfortable, safe, and had a great experience. I would recommend this campsite to others.
Calm, quiet, river sounds to sleep
We loved camping at Robert and Carmen's property! Our dogs loved the "right at your site", which we did as well. Clean, fresh flowers on the picnic table, firewood and starter. A clean natural HOT shower! Longhorns, horses. Relaxing, wanting for nothing, away from the world. We did reserve the cabin and the campsite to have privacy, as the 2 sites are right next to each other. Hosts are amazing, truly.
New favorite place
Surprised my fiancé for his birthday with this place and it did not disappoint. We stayed in the cabin and although we love pitching a tent, this was the perfect experience for not having to do as much work. The grounds are beautiful, the river flows right by you, and the camp area is charming. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. FYI- the stove is super powerful and worked great with a cast iron skillet! Carmen and Bob were very helpful and responsive! We absolutely loved our stay here and cannot wait to come back. Don’t miss the chance to use the outdoor shower! It was the perfect start to a morning. 10/10 on this gem!
This site has it all, easy access to water, gorgeous livestock, private , great fire pit and clean. Not to mention great hosts, Carmen even took my kids on a tour of the land and long horn steers!
A little slice of heaven
Robert and Carmen are sharing a little slice of their heaven with the rest of the world. The cabin was lovely and rustic - including an actual old school icebox that had cooling abilities put our fancy modern cooler to shame.
Carmen was welcoming and super helpful. The longhorns were charming as heck and the site itself was bucolic. I cannot wait to go back.
