Elk Moon is absolutely serene. The way the space is designed makes you feel like you're staying in your own home, but out in the middle of no where. Its comfortable, sustainable, and I can't wait to come back here to watch the sunrise over the 360 degree views of mountains and volcanoes. You're missing out if you pass this place up!
We had such a wonderful stay at Elk Moon. It was a wonderful escape from the city and just a short drive away. Josh greeted us upon arrival to show us around, and we felt instantly at home. The yurt has an incredible view and you feel extremely secluded. It has everything you need on site and it was fun to stay on a working farm. I highly recommend Elk Moon to anyone looking for a quiet place to escape to with an incredible view of Mt. Hood.
Couldn’t have asked for a better weekend getaway! The yurt is near a working farm and I reached out to Josh to schedule a tour. My tour guide was one of Josh and Christie’s sons; he was adorably hilarious. The views are absolutely incredible and I enjoyed sitting on the deck, soaking in the sun and reading. In the yurt, there’s a comfy bed with plenty of blankets, which was nice as the night was a little chilly. Propane stove with plates and an iron skillet were very helpful for cooking meals. The outdoor toilet wasn’t as bad as you think it could be! It’s not entirely too private as there’s the farm and home nearby, but far enough away where you have some space. Would highly recommend. :)
Elk Moon was absolutely stunning across the board. The yurt was perfect and serene along with the views right outside the door. They had everything you could need inside the yurt... dishes, solar-powered battery, small burner stove, water, bedding, candles, you name it. It was the perfect getaway for us and it was just a short trip away from the coast. Loved it!
This spot was by far the best place I could have chosen to stay while in Oregon! It was accessible, but far enough away from the hustle that the nights were quiet and natural. Josh and Christie were beyond helpful in getting me set up and making me feel at home. I normally prefer tent camping, but this yurt was so worth it! It was clean and simple and very peaceful! I’m not sure what my favorite part was: the view, the golden sunrises, or the nighttime solitude and stargazing opportunities. All in all, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you didn’t choose to stay here.
