There is a reason the price is lower than average Hipcamp prices but I got exactly what I expected. It is a gravel drive into the bush which is perfect to stop and sleep if you're on a budget. I expected the gravel might all be overgrown with weeds but it was actually really good. I like it!
Great spot, there is traffic on the road but we did have a doe walk through the camp and keep on eye on us while we were there, if you just want a place to sleep after day trips it’s great!
Safe, quiet (other than very welcome, distant cottage-y sounds, birds, frogs). The property is a few minutes from McKellar and only about 20 min from Parry Sound, so a nice location if you feel like exploring. I just needed some solitude and this fit the bill. Antonino is super helpful and responsive.
Instructions clear on getting into the site. We rented and it was not as rocky as it looked in the photos. If you had a trailer it would be especially good as a place to park for the night, as there is a ton of room.
We stayed from Saturday to Monday and found the site to be fair for the price. It was clean, and the host was friendly. While it felt more like a driveway than a private campsite and the ground was rocky and uneven, it served its purpose for a short stay. The nearby road was fairly busy, which affected privacy, but overall it offered reasonable value for the cost.
My boyfriend, our dog, and I stayed here for the weekend and it was absolutely perfect. The campsite was clean, well-maintained, and nicely secluded—just the peaceful getaway we were hoping for. We slept in our car and still felt comfortable and safe the whole time. Antonino was very kind and replied quickly, which made communication and planning super easy. Everything about our stay was amazing, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a quiet retreat in nature!
My wife and I needed a spot for the night to park our van and I had some fish I needed to cook over a campfire which there was a fire pit. It’s pretty private and not too noisy..there isn’t much camping area so you mainly hang out on the driveway which is pretty rocky….but for the money that was tolerable …I probably wouldn’t spend a whole camping weekend there but for a one nighter it work out just fine !
Antonino is the definition of a top-notch host! The property was well kept, communication was efficient, and gave great recommendations! 10/10 will recommend to friends and family. And will definitely be back 🙌🏼
My partner and I absolutely loved this little piece of heaven! It was a bit rocky but it didn't bother us none! The spot was quiet and private and exactly what we needed for an inexpensive night away! Our host was super communicative and friendly! The location was easier to find then I expected. We will definitely be going back!
When you back in , you can set up a nice little campsite behind your RV , super private . Great for setting off for day trips , swam off the boat launch 1 min down the road . Awesome maintained trail system right across the road .
Not a huge site and yes it is closer to the road , we were not disturbed by cars. Very quiet . It is what you make it and the host Antonino was top notch and accommodating .
Quiet and private. The location close to Parry Sound was very convenient. Driveway was difficult to find and drop-off of roadway was significant. If backing in a trailer, a highly experienced trailer operator required.
