The Virus making you crazy? Tele-schooling driving you nuts? Not really interested in getting away to a 15'x30' concrete pad with a rusty grill, anemic bush and no privacy? Been there, done that.
Selected by Outside Magazine as their Favorite Hipcamp in North Carolina, how about a change to a woodsy, peaceful, solo RV or tenting camping experience with million dollar views, 30 AMP, water, WiFi, fire ring, observation deck, fire pit/ coffee table, picnic table, the use of a gas grill and cooking equipment, designated improved tenting area and unbelievable views on 1.2 acres? Plus your own docking space on Lake Glenville and the use of our canoe, kayak and paddleboards. Explore the innumerable trails and waterfalls of the Smokies; fish in the Lake or numerous rivers and streams; swim in the Lake and at the sand beach down the road; rent a pontoon boat; travel the Blue Ridge Parkway; enjoy the shopping and restaurants of nearby Cashiers and Highlands. Or just chill out. This is truly a unique camping experience I built for my own Class C and continue to improve, far from the madding crowd.
BONUS: Fire starter log for the fire ring AND use of BT/lantern AND battery operated TV with ROKU stick AND walkie-talkies to communicate in and around the mountains AND microwave oven AND high end propane grill AND grilling utensils AND pots and pans. See Arrival Instructions under Directions for more info.
EXTRA: Can be combined with the Blue Ridge Aerie Retreat for fantastic intimate family wedding venue. Inquire for further details.
PLEASE NOTE: There are no bathroom facilities and pits or trips to the woods are prohibited so you will need to have or bring some facility to “pack it out” if you are a tent camper.
WIFI: We have two WiFi networks that operate from Access Points at the cabin to your site. One is unsecured and operates at around 6mbps. The other is secured and operates between 7-11 mbps. You can Zoom ( allegedly takes 1 mbps) and tele-school unless Frontier takes a dive which (if you know Frontier) is not uncommon, although I will say that the 6 mbps network rarely goes out even if the main network goes down. We did it for 2 1/2 months. Keep your fingers crossed, but this ain't the Big City.
IMPORTANT: There is about 70' of parking area, but we are on top of the mountain. The climb from the gate to the site is paved, but relatively steep and somewhat curvy so you will need some HP for your camper. Class B and non-extended Class C RVs have no problem. Campers between 28-30' can make it up here with the right HP. NO CLASS A RVs OR CAMPERS MUCH LONGER THAN 30' CAN MAKE IT. No easy turnaround once you get to the site. I'm happy to address any specific issues, but I want this to be a stress-free experience!
TENT CAMPERS: There is a designated tent camping gravel area on the lower level of the lot, surrounded by railroad ties and Christmas trees. However, you can pich your tent(s) anywhere on the lot EXCEPT on the flat grassy area on top. If you have any questions, let me know.
RV GUESTS PLEASE NOTE: It is unlikely that I will be able to host RV guests for more than half of 2021, after which it will be tents only. I love my HOA. Not.

Peter was an excellent host. The spot had an overlook with a breathtaking view. He was very helpful with ideas for hikes and activities in the area. We came with our 1 yr old daughter and she enjoyed playing at the campsite and going on multiple hikes! We would definitely go back!
My wife and I (along with our 5mo old) stayed at this mountaintop RV site for the weekend. I must say, we immensely enjoyed the solitude, beautiful mountain views, and the gas fire pit + covered deck amenities. If you enjoy camping but would rather have your own slice of paradise, look no further. We will definitely return soon.

Great host great site
Wonderful site close to all the trout streams.
My wife and I had a very nice couple of nights. It was as advertised...a nice quiet retreat literally on top of the mountain, away from the world. Peter was attentive but not intrusive! The view is spectacular, and the site and the observation deck works very well together! We did score four fresh eggs for breakfast! All in all a nice experience and memory.
Gorgeous views and spacious campsite! Plenty of space for our dogs to run around and very private. The overlook deck was such a nice bonus. We will definitely be back!
Peter and his family were lovely and went out of their way to make our stay fabulous! There is a huge firepit, water/electric hookup and a spectacular covered deck area with a gas firepit coffee table that overlooks the lake (perfect for a rainy family game night). High falls hiking trail (do it!) and public lake access are 10 min away (driving). Peter gave us eggs from his chickens and his family even gave our girls sparklers for Memorial Day celebrating. These sweet, appreciated personal touches just added to the natural beauty of wonder of the site. Highly recommend a visit!

The site exceeded my expectations, very private, very quiet, spectacular views, very clean. Everything was as described. Peter was an excellent host, the perfect amount of communication and always just a txt away if I needed anything. I will be coming here again for sure.
Note: follow the directions to the site to the letter, there are few/no places to turn around were you to make a wrong turn
