We are making some changes due to the pandemic. We have 3 sites available, but do not want to host multiple parties from different locations at a time due to the shared spaces used (outhouse, pavilion). SO, when you book, you are booking ALL 3 SITES. This has the capacity to host over 10 people! The price has increased, but so does our feeling of security and yours. Near the first campsite is also a public access point for our local community who is allowed to come and swim. If you prefer to see few people and have more quiet and seclusion, plan to set up in site 2 or 3 (primitive site) . Site 2 can accommodate 2 medium sized tents and site 3 one medium sized tent.
The riverside campsites are right along the pristine South Toe river in a forested area at the edge of our organic farm. The camping sites are private and each site can access the river for swimming or fishing. Folks park at barn and walk 1 minute into farm where the sites are. There is a pavilion for eating or hanging out with power to charge your phone, plus twinkle lights that can be used at night. Each site has a firepit and wood is at pavilion or at site (if paid for and reserved). Sites are in our main vegetable production area so we are around and working during weekdays but less on weekends. There is an electric fence nearby, so use caution, it is flagged. We encourage guests that like a quiet camping experience with simple needs.

We had an absutely magical time during our camping trip at Green Toe Ground Farm! It was private and secluded, but close enough to our car that carrying our stuff in wasn't a problem! Before we got there we had planned on hiking in the area, but ended up spending the entire day on the river that the campsite is next to. There's a beautiful beach covered in beautiful smooth river stones, a swimming hole, a rope swing and we met a few of the locals who were there using the private river access. We just had a wonderful time and never had to leave the property! It's so peaceful and quiet at night, and the stargazing is out of this world! Nicole was such a lovely host, making us feel right at home! We will definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone!

Great campsite along the Toe river. Nicole went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Campsite #1 is the most private, she loaned us a tent when ours broke. The water level was low. Convenience store aprox 7-10 min away. Outhouse is clean. Definitely Recommend this campsite, we had a great trip.
This place was perfect for our group of 16 people! Being near the river and having the whole place to yourself is hard to beat!
The covered kitchen area was great during times when we had the occasional drizzle.
Nicole was a great communicator who made a point to call us to make sure any ambiguities are cleared up before our arrival. She was also there to meet us and show us the grounds. During our stay, she was always easy to reach through text if we had any questions.
All in all, we had a great stay and did not want to leave. We highly recommend this listing!

My two teens and I had a great time camping at Green Toe Ground on the Toe River - nothing better for me than spending time swimming in a pristine river, tubing, swimming and searching for fish, crayfish and salamanders with my two teens and reminding them of the sounds of the woods and flowing water.
The hosts are friendly, helpful, and responsive. They have available drinking water, firewood, good fire pits and grills, great campsite locations, dry ground, close to, but above the water, very-good compost toilet (odor-free, clean, easy to use), picnic table, camp chairs ... and the beautiful Toe River.
There is some poison ivy, but it’s easy to see; I’m highly allergic, but had no problem (avoidance and TECNU work for me).
I look forward to returning to Green Toe Ground to camp the next time I’m in Western NC

Wonderful little campsite right on the river! Great little swimming hole, ropeswing, and a little bend of rapids. Wish we brought a tube! Host was wonderful, we had a grate to grill on the fire and wood to burn. We had planned on finding a hike nearby but loved the spot so much we spent the whole first day at the river. Definitely coming back!!
My husband, 3 sons and I had a blast at Tents on Toe Ground. This trip will not be forgotten and my family is already talking about coming back. We had site #1 and it truly was perfect for us, just as Nicole said. We were happy campers, nestled in good shade, a level cleared area, right along the river and close to a decent compost toilet and their pavillion, which has power, pottable water, plenty of fire wood, and even an outdoor oven the hosts are willing to prep for you, if you should need it, all included in your stay. The beautiful cool, clear water has several areas that are deep enough to swim in but also plenty of areas shallow enough for small children, and the best part..we all caught fish, each day of our stay. Although we had a few people visit the perfect access to the water here, they were not bothersome and they all seemed to respect that we were there camping. Most of those visitors(locals, or people who know locals) mentioned how lucky we were and asked how we knew of this Gem😆. I am truly grateful for a memorable experience and 100% would reccomend Tents on Toe Ground! Thanks so very much Nicole for allowing us the opportunity to stay and enjoy your perfect spot! #GreatHost #theMountainsareCalling #whatareyouwaitingfor #ourbestcampingexperienceyet
Absolutely beautiful location! The river was clear and refreshing. It was perfect for children. We had children ranging in age from 3-15 and they all had a blast. There is deep water, wading water and even a few small rapids the children could ride on a tube. The campsites were clean and had fire rings with grill grates and the first two had picnic tables. It was nice having an outlet accessible and fresh drinking water available. The first camp site was huge and level ground. The second site was more private and fit our 4 man tent nicely. The third was the smallest and we ended up not using. Nicole was accessible with any questions and very welcoming. She even let the children meet her 1 week old calf! Definitely recommend the tents on the toe river.
We had a great camping experience and our hosts were so kind and helpful!
Great location along the river, set back off the road so very quiet: site is well maintained. Great area to fish or explore around the river. Didn’t come in the summer but swimming hole looked amazing
