There’s plenty of wide open space to enjoy a relaxed lifestyle, but with many comforts and conveniences nearby. The closest towns to the properties are Rutherfordton and Forest City, where you’ll find all your basics (gas, groceries, big box stores) and plenty more to keep you occupied. This location is also under 40 minutes to the south of the eclectic small town Black Mountain, and under an hour to the southeast of Asheville, famously known as home to the Biltmore Estate.
Closer to the properties, is Lake Lure, known as one of the finer man-made lakes in NC. The lake is surrounded by lush mountain tops and sheer granite cliffs. The lake offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and there’s even a beachfront!! The lake also famous for having been the filming location for scenes from movies such as Thunder Road, Dirty Dancing, Forrest Gump, and The Last of the Mohicans just to name a few. Don’t miss the Dirty Dancing Festival!!
