Welcome to our half-acre campground, featuring two sites. Bordering 400 acres of state land, our campground offers a tranquil setting on a hillside above the artsy hamlet of Wassaic, New York.
Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy nearby fishing, hiking, kayaking, or biking along the 26 miles of the Rail Trail. The campground is located within 15 minutes of several Appalachian Trail access points.
The property is maintained to provide maximum hospitality to local wildlife. The local vegetation is allowed to grow long, and the surrounding forest provides an excellent habitat for songbirds, wild turkeys, deer, foxes, woodchucks, bobcats, and occasionally bears.
Please be aware that you may hear train noise, as the Harlem North line ends approximately one mile away. Our home is located around 100 feet below the campground. The campground consists of two campsites: one with a vintage camper situated on top of the hill and the second lower campsite for campervans.
If you are interested in a more private experience, please inquire about renting both sites at a discounted rate.This campsite is located near the top of a Ridgeline above the hamlet of Wassaic and surrounded by 400 acres of state land.
Several Appalachian Trail access points are within 15 minutes of the campsite. Enjoy nearby fishing, hiking, kayaking, or biking. The 26-miles Hudson Valley Rail Trail starts just 3 miles away in downtown Wassaic.
We have outfitted this site to welcome 4WD camper vans or truck bed campers under 24 feet in length. This site is not meant for tent camping.
Due to the incline of our driveway, all vehicles must have 4WD to access the site safely.
The campsite provides a flat graveled space for your vehicle along with a 30 amp outlet and a 20 amp dual pull GFI outlet. There is a freshwater hydrant and a septic hookup for your vehicle. No bathroom facilities are provided on-site, so we only welcome travelers with bathroom facilities in their vehicles.
The site has a (solo stove type) campfire pit, two chairs around the fire, a charcoal bbq, a small dining table, and two dining chairs. Firewood can be provided for an additional fee.
There is one other campsite and our home on just over an acre of land. Depending on the time of year, the greenery does provide some privacy.
