We have two camping areas, one with a pavilion and outhouses and a creek and one with only walk to (approx one third mile hike private access, in the woods.) Both beautiful and private.

Dolly Little’s property, Crosspatch Horse Ranch, is located in the town of Salamanca, New York. It’s a great spot for anyone wanting to tent camp or bring their small RV or van. We found an easy place to park next to an old wagon and by an old tree. The spot was also level and offered a good bit of shade. Dolly herself is super friendly and made us feel welcome and right at home.
The site itself is unique. It almost felt like we were part of an old town. There are some old stage coaches and wagons on the property, a cabin, a treehouse and even a small store. At this time campers only have access to the composting toilet and the pavilion as well as a place to park or pitch a tent but that may change in the future. There’s also a fire ring (Dolly will provide firewood for you!) and several places to hang out and just relax.
As far as local attractions, this site is not too far from allegheny State Park, Allegheny Seneca Casino and the Pat McGee Trail. We could see people choosing to stop here on their way to or from Niagara Falls which is just about an hour and a half from here.
If you’re in the area and looking for a unique getaway, give Crosspatch Horse Ranch a try!

This was a beautiful place to stay at a horse ranch. While we were there, they had a going-away bbq for three of the ranch hands who are part of a Work Away program, and we were invited to join the festivities. The outhouse is a clean vault toilet with lots of hand sanitizer as well as soap and water. There was a covered area that is rented out for events, but was a great eating area while it was raining. Dolly and the rest were so nice and kind and welcoming. I felt right at home.
Dolly has such a great site! I loved hearing the creek behind me while I camped at her place. She also had really cool animals at her place across the street. Very kind and a great place to stay.
Dolly was a great host. Excellent semi-primitive camp site with beautiful surroundings. Firewood is provided! Would absolutely recommend. I hope to return one day.
Not quite as expected.
I will start by saying overall I did have a good weekend however it did not meet up to the expectation described on the website. I was under the impression that there was a secluded spot in a wooded area where we could camp. Not true! It is an open field fenced off from the horses. There is one tree which I quickly claimed. The "Pavilion" is not for use by campers. It is filled with junk used or expired from the ranch. When we arrived there was some kind of family function going on which made it incredibly awkward trying so set up camp no more then 30 yards away, which happened to be the furthest away from the pavilion. They wrote on the post that there were places to fish. There isn't. If you want to fish you have to drive to Allegany State park. Same for Swimming. The most positive thing I can say about our stay was everyone was very friendly and the horseback riding was definitely worth the money. I plan on returning to ride horses and if you enjoy open camping then check them out. I personally prefer being surrounded by woods rather then in someones backyard.
We had a nice stay at the ranch and took to the trails close by at the Allegheny state forest and also rock city state forest. Natural beauty all around you. Dolly had every horse drawn piece of anything you could imagine including an old chuck wagon. Like the settlers took out west. A gracious host with an awesomely interesting place to set up camp!
Wonderful peaceful stay! Dolly was welcoming and thoughtful. We loved exploring the property and watching the horses from our campsite. The farm kitty was friendly. Easy access but private site. Highly recommend!
