Binalong Forest Retreat is a 30 acre corner of the beautiful Tweed Shire in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. Consisting of 25 acres of tall native forest, with a five acre clearing for the dwelling, studio building and sheds, it is primarily an artist's retreat. Totally private and surrounded by the natural environment, staying here is akin to being in a national park. So if you love nature, away from the hustle and bustle of cities and suburbia, you will appreciate this place we call home. We see ourselves as custodians of the forest, protecting it for future generations. This property is also registered with Land for Wildlife. Being on a ridge Binalong Court is a steep bitumen road to the cul-de-sac. Number 59 has a 600m bitumen driveway, steep at first then a gentle climb up the side of the ridge. Drive with care here as the driveway was impacted by the flooding rains over summer which blocked drains and eroded the edges in places. Happily the road is now repaired.

Site 1: Seaview Terrace

What a beautiful little getaway, the view was incredible and it was very private. We only stayed for one night as we were passing through but communication was amazing and I am planning to come back and stay longer!

Site 2: Forest Ridge

Site 2 is a stunning spot up on the ridge amongst the trees, private and serene, we loved it! Had a fire in the fire pit and moonlight through the branches, couldn’t ask for more. I have an little 11 foot caravan towed by a jeep and it was tricky turning it around to come out the way we went in, but we managed, luckily the caravan is small enough to turn by hand if needed, but something to keep in mind. Went down and looked at site 1 and that also looks great with lovely views, also easier to manoeuvre, but a little bit more m’way noise, which you barely hear on the ridge. Would stay at either place again and Serena was a lovely friendly host.

Site 1: Seaview Terrace

Fantastic view, only 1km to the rail trail and close to Burringbar. We enjoyed tent camping there in a quiet, quite private spot. Host was also helpful and readily contactable through the Hipcamp system to answer questions.
