Cozy peacful new hampshire woods
Snug Life is a magical spot. Nestled up against a beautiful river, it has everything you need to enjoy a tranquil and restorative stay in the New Hampshire woods. the canvas tent is cozy and comfortable, and the wood heater can get the tent very toasty. Great picnic table and outdoor cooking area, and everything you need to enjoy a night of "glamping." Jody was wonderful - we never saw each other in person, but she had placed a big jug of potable water and dry firewood at our camp before we arrived. There were plenty of signs marking the way down to the campsite, and where to park. Very straightforward. Highly recommend for a little New England get away.
A slice of heaven
This was a very fun trip for us. We have been trying to sneak a foot in the door into the world of winter camping and this was the perfect step in the right direction. Very secluded spot in the woods right on the river, immersed in woods. The hosts were awesome and very friendly and accommodated us beyond expectation. The wood stove keeps the tent toasty warm and is easy to manage. Picnic table was of great use for preparing foods to cook over the fire. We found great pleasure in discovering new board games left for us under the bed. And the bed.. wow, have never slept that well on an air mattress.
Just what we needed
Spent the weekend with my boyfriend and the dog. We had a great time! The site was beautiful. Right on the water & very private. Directions were clear & simple getting us to the provided address & down to the camp site. The walk down to the site can get very muddy, so make sure to wear proper shoes. We opted to eat in town instead of cooking at the site since we got in late Friday & wanted to spend the bulk of the time hiking/exploring. Hilltop Cafe was incredible - highly recommend you stop there regardless! We spent the day Saturday hiking at Garwin Falls & then drove to Pearl Hill State Park in MA. Both stops were fantastic. We didn't have excessive bug issues at the campsite by any means. But highly recommend bringing bug spray & keeping the fire going to deter them. The dog had a fair amount of ticks on her throughout the weekend, but that's to be expected in the woods! We set up a camp fire before the sun set to make some s'mores. We opted for the bundle of firewood. I recommend doing so for future guests since the ground were mostly picked over otherwise. There were some games in the storage containers for entertainment (chess, checkers, cards, etc.). Hardly any cell service, which was great for disconnecting. Both sunrise & sunset were beautiful. No signs of any wildlife during our stay outside of a couple of birds. Thank you for sharing this gem with us - hope to return again soon.
The site is beautiful, quiet, and well kept! We had an amazing overnight stay. We paid for firewood and Jody provided a wagon we used to navigate down to the site. We enjoyed the sounds of the river and fire all night! Would absolutely recommend this spot for a getaway.
This place was amazing. Easily marked to get to the site. Even during a NH winter in February wasnt to bad. Remember its winter so plan accordingly. The tent stayed warm even woth 45+ winds and around 0*F with the wind. We will go back for sure
I had an absolutely wonderful time at this site. The location was beautiful and secluded, though it was an easy enough walk to get out to the site. Directions were great, hosts were accommodating, and it was just an overall fantastic experience. Would 100% recommend
One of a kind setting
Beautiful unique setting - comfortable conditions in the tent. The trip to the site is short but not easy so pack light to minimize the number of trips to 1 if possible (we overpacked). We were slightly nervous about the bathroom situation but it was cleaner and easier than most campground bathrooms / and even the cleanest Clivus toilet. Our 4 year old loved it as well. And I'll confirm another reviewer's endorsement of Hilltop Cafe for breakfast - a gorgeous place with great food. All as advertised - would definitely stay again.
This campsite is beautiful. I took my two children and we had the greatest time here. The tent is totally comfortable and the kitchen has a good amount of cookware. The views of the river are wonderful and my kids had so much fun chasing frogs. We would absolutely stay again. It is a short hike from the car to the campsite, but it is on a slope. It was challenging to haul all of our gear in the garden cart that Jody supplied - especially with young children who aren't super independent.
Relaxing spot, but we could hear road noise and construction noise. There was also a shooting range nearby with lots of activity. Also, bring your own biodegradable bags and toilet paper to use in the tented bathroom because those items were not available. Very pretty spot to dip into the river and the bottom bunk was comfortable. Fortunately we only needed the bottom bunk because the top bunk air mattress had partially come apart making it impossible for two people to sleep on. I would say the price per night was steep given that the bathroom and bed situation was not as described.
