If you truly like wilderness camping deep in the UP of Michigan this is the perfect spot for you.  Social distancing is not a problem here. Just 20 minutes from Marquette, and 30 minutes to Munising.  Totally isolated 5 acres in the woods. Extremely quiet and peaceful, surrounded only by nature.  Fire pit available, very rustic outhouse. Nestled in hemlocks and other conifers. Beautiful in summer and autumn. This location is just outside of Marquette county. With no current address available because of location. Some of the  photos on here are of my home area, and camping is no longer allowed in this area. I do not want to break any ordinances, laws or zoning in my area so I have changed it to my other land in the UP Just a short drive from my home area.   You can enjoy my photos on here of my past campers that I was lucky to share with on my lake property.  The  new camping area does not have a lake, but there are plenty of areas to enjoy the water. This area is truly for the  hardy soul and nature lover.  I will supply plenty of information about the area and things to do. Just message me if you have any questions. The camping site does not have an address. I will meet campers in the village of 'Deerton' which is only a few minutes from the camping area. You must arrive by 6:00 PM due to the location and it's getting dark earlier! Thank you!

Judy was the best host we could ask for! She shared fresh wild blueberrys with us, provided us with fire making materials and smore sticks, zipped our tent up for us when it started to rain, let us use the shower and her wifi, provided local recommendations, and offered use of her canoe and kayak. You couldnt have asked for a better view. The lake was beautiful and at night you could see ever star in the sky including the milky way. 5 stars, phenomenal value for money, and would highly recommend. Thanks so much Judy!😊

We loved staying on Judy's amazing slice of heaven! She had the perfect setup for an intimate camping stay. We loved the walkway that led right to the lake, where she has a kayak available for use. The lake was so much fun to explore; even our dog had a blast out on it! There is plenty of nice flat area perfect for pitching tents and the fire ring is actually an awesome transplanted piece of the host's childhood! We loved getting to chat with Judy and she gave us some awesome tips for cool things to see in the area.

The outhouse is tucked in the trees and is clean and perfectly maintainedSunset kayaking on the quiet lake was perfect! The walkway to the lakeThe driveway to the campsite makes for a relaxing beautiful hike

Judy was an amazing host! She went out of her way to give my husband a comfortable place to camp on her beautiful property. Our dog enjoyed her stay as well. This location is lovely and wooded with a stunning lake right there. We hope to come back someday. 10/10

What a wonderful opportunity and place this is! It is a very small, private spot on several acres of deep woodlands that feel like they go on forever. There is a firespot, a table and chairs, and an outhouse. Judy is a wonderful hostess. The drive to the site is a bit rocky; you might want not to do this in a tiny car. Our CR-V did it just fine.

Rustic, in the woods, two track.

Judy met us at an easy to find spot so she could show us the camp site. It is off a dirt road and just a short drive or walk down a narrow two track. Great place if you want a secluded camp site in the woods. If your car sits low to the ground, she recommends parking near the road an walking to the site.

There was a good spot for a tent, fire pit, table and chairs, and an outhouse that had screens in the small window to keep bugs out. She lets you collect your own firewood, but will have some ready if you let her know before you arrive.

There is no cellphone service, so be prepared for that. The site has no mailing address, so you can’t have your phone find it on a map. That is why Judy has to show you how to get out to the site-before dark.
It is between Marquette and Munising, a little more than a mile off the main highway. That was a good base camp for my son and I, since we visited both towns.

We were prepared for rustic camping, so the only downside to this spot was the swarms of blackflies and mosquitos that hatched the first week of June. The bug nets you wear over your head allowed us to make the best of our trip this time of year. Judy did warn us to bring the bug spray.😀

Glad you made the best of it despite the bug hatching! :) I was down there yesterday and things have calmed quite a bit with the bugs. A little bug spray did the trick. Although this is the UP so the weather and bugs are constantly changing! Fall is a beautiful time to camp there too.. Thanks for coming!

For dispersed campers it doesn't get much better. Prepare for mosquitoes but that goes without saying. Great site and Judy was excellent re communication. Highly recommended site!

If you are looking for a true wilderness experience, this is the camp site for you. Deep in the woods, surrounded by beautiful scenery everywhere, and close to many nature sites, and special attractions. Be prepared for the mosquitoes, bring plenty of spray for yourself and area surrounding the site. Judy, the hostess, is very accessible and very helpful.

This site was remote, away from everything and exactly what we needed! We had 2 dogs and a cat who enjoyed the stay very much. As the host warned us, there was a LOT of mosquitoes so be prepared for that!
But everything else was great and hope to return again someday.
