If you’re having trouble finding the site per the directions, turn down Chippewa Rd on the 600 end and turn left on the first street. If you get to the little cabins on the left, you’ve gone a bit too far. Then, to the right, there’s a small clearing that about 2 cars can pull into right where the dirt road forks. Site 1 is to the right of the clearing and 2 is to the left. Keep an eye out for a flower pot on top of a wooden post and also a gray porta-potty.
We had a lot of trouble finding the site and the host never ended up responding to our text asking for help (we couldn’t call because of service) so I would screenshot these directions before going! The address and the hosts instructions both did not help us.
The site was perfectly secluded but close to the beach. It seemed impossible to walk to the beach from the site because of swamp land, but it was a very short walk from public access.
We were also a 2 minute drive from a gas station, a 20 minute drive from a small town with a small grocery store, and a 35ish minute drive from Petoskey. It was truly the perfect spot.
We chose site 2 because it appeared closer to the beach from the aerial map, but having looked at both sites when we got there, we’d probably choose 1 next time. Site 2 required a short walk over some unstable, narrow planks over a swamp in order to reach, and site 1 did not. Site 1 was also much bigger. If site 1 was unavailable, I would most definitely not hesitate to book 2 again. It is NOT ADA accessible, however, like the listing says.
I have sprint and had no service at all at the site, but my friend with Verizon had some very shifty service. It was a great place to disconnect.
All in all, we loved the site and will likely return. The price was very fair and it was truly a delightful trip!

Would absolutely return to this camp, what a special place— walking distance to Lake Michigan, a small general store, local farm stand, etc. Had the entire campsite to ourselves, portipotty was well taken care of, site was clean and secluded in a lush forest where we could hear the lake from our tent. The site was tricky to find in the dark because of not having cell service and GPS leading us to the wrong part of the road, so just be sure to contact the hosts ahead of time if you need more detailed directions.

We had a a great time staying at site 2! It was perfect location for us. I would only recommend SCREENSHOTTING the directions from the review someone left in June! Those directions helped us out a ton. Make sure you’re down Chippewa Rd. (Not lane) but the site was perfect. Highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a spot close to the water but still with privacy.

The site was solid and worth the price, but the pictures are very well selected. Be weary of angles, etc. However the host did accommodate our needs and change us to a nearby site. The area is gorgeous and would recommend going to everybody, just keep your expectations in check!

Really lovely and private sites right along Lake Michigan and with easy walking distance to the Cross Village beach. We preferred site #2 because it was closer to the water, but the pathway over the swamp was loose wooden boards and tricky to navigate for two young people — especially with heavy gear. Probably not a good site for folks with mobility issues. The portapotty was super clean and the tables and fire rings were great. Really nice sites!!

This was my first time using this site and it was great. exactly what we wanted in a camp site. Super close to the beach.

Great tent camping!! We stayed at Site #1, it felt private and was so much quieter than a typical campground. Being walking distance to the Cross Village Beach was unbeatable! The Host stopped by to check in and was very kind. We would stay here again!

Had a great time over a holiday weekend at campsite #1! You are definitely close to other folks but it still felt isolated and I enjoyed being only a short walk from the beachfront. Main area gets daytime sun but has plenty of shady spots. Summer vegetation helped keep passing cars out of sight, was not a problem for me. Picnic table, fire pit, and portopotty (you share toilet with campsite 2) were great to have on site. Would return!

Directions a bit confusing and poor cell reception in area, be aware!
