Al's place was quiet and peaceful and Al is a wonderful host. The location is great and central to a lot of good hiking and low key sight seeing. The privy is rustic which was ok for us but maybe not for everyone. We were thankful for a good first hip camp experience and a good social distancing Memorial day.
Great views and affordable site!
Al was super accommodating. Multiple sites available and the water views are great. Good location for a lot of area hiking. Outhouse and outdoor showering options. We appreciated the screened in shelter to get away from the black flies. Firewood and potable water were also provided.
We came early in the season and I think there are a few maintenance items that could be done but it sounds like the owner had plans for a lot of them. Outhouse was up the hill which not ideal in the middle of the night but it is camping.
Overall, it was a good experience. I would like to come back a little later in the season when black flies aren’t so prevalent. Like I said, Al was very accommodating and wanted to make sure we had a good experience. Price was cheaper than a lot of other area camp sites and he had more amenities.
Amazing stay, great host!
Al’s Spot (Elmers Cove) has all the magic you could possibly want from a camp spot. The views are incredible! Each campsite is unique, it was hard to choose which one. It is remote but still close to so many natural wonders. You honestly don’t even need to leave the cove to have a wonderful time. Al is a great host and was willing to help with anything we needed. You will leave the Cove feeling so rested and relaxed!
Very private, beautiful view
Al was a lovely host. Very sweet guy. Dug up clams for us to eat and also helped us out with a lobster pot so we can steam those beautiful Maine monsters!! Gave us recommendations on where to hike, beautiful piece of property he lives on. Right next to cobscook state park which is also a beautiful park.
Al was a very gracious host. His site space is very unique. The view is spectacular and the wildflowers growing everywhere are homes to bumble bees and pretty visuals. There is absolutely no service or WiFi, so just be prepared to be offline for awhile and reconnect with earth.
