Wow...what a weekend retreat! A secluded, tree-lined drive was the perfect introduction to our first visit to MoonLight Grove Farm. The property is bordered by farm fields and the Ohio River giving us ample opportunities to bird watch with sightings ranging from Indigo Buntings, to Green Herons, to a nest of Bald Eagles. Susan and Larry were gracious hosts and ensured that we got settled into our spot. Little touches like a fire pit stocked with wood for evening fires and fresh eggs from their free-range chickens made the experience even more special. We definitely will book again!
Amazing campsite and amazing hosts. We felt so safe and welcomed. Our hosts were so accommodating and even gave us fresh eggs from their chickens. The campsite was quiet and very private. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
The stars were so bright
If your looking for a place within an hour or so from Louisville ky that you can get away and relax and just stare up at the sky at night then they have nailed it. They were extreamly friendly. We didnt get in till almost 10pm but they were up and allready had a fire going.
The only thing i feel should be a warning is to those who want to sleep till 10 am. You might not have that chance. This is a working farm and the rooster crows at dawn. The next time we stay to camp in Louisville area we know exactly where we are going
