Book private day-use use of our 1840's log house 30 minutes from Cincinnati. Surrounded by forest on a ridgetop, privacy is yours. This Boone County Historical Register structure is "unchinked" meaning the gaps between the logs have not been filled. So, while you are sheltered from the elements, it allows for light, air, and ambient temperatures to flow through. Perfect for the folks who want a little nature - but not too much!

The first floor is one large open room with a soapstone wood burning stove providing radiant heat. A wood, serving table is present. Food can be warmed on the top of the stove. The second floor is open and has a table for seating with log chairs. Wrap-around porch with wooden rocking chairs, benches, and tables. Sit and enjoy the view.

Grass surrounds the cabin which includes a picnic table and fire ring. Beyond that is a forest that, in the fall and winter gives you a unique view of the surrounding hilltops; in the spring and summer, its lush and green. Wide walking paths circle the ridge top for easy strolls that lead right back to the cabin. Hiking "light" can be found on the Great Googly Moogly Trail that dips into the forest; it's a mostly easy trail except for a very short, steep section at the entrance.

Short-walk from main parking area (250'). Can drive and park one or two cars directly at the cabin to deliver supplies or people. Sparkling clean outhouse located near the parking area approximately 500' away.

You provide everything else you need: food, drinks, etc. Clean up as you found it.

Booking fee includes all the above for 6 hours plus for maximum 8 people:- A welcoming fire in the fireplace, along with wood to keep it going. Assistance at check-in to ensure you are set up and comfortable.

- Six hour window - flexible as to arrival time. 

- Extras can also be purchased: - Starter kit and firewood for outside fire; camp stove.

- Day rental only at this time; overnights in the near future. Campsites available for booking if an overnight is requested.

- Covid protocols in place - sanitizer and wipes provided.
