Property has been in the family for 50+ years. Prior to the family buying it in the 1950’s it was owned by a timber company from Wyoming. They built a log cabin and other outbuildings, that still stand today, for a hunting lodge. We love the property and want to share it with others so they can enjoy it too. Learn more about this land: Property located on the Ohio River with grass fields and mature woodland areas with primitive campsites available. Sites also available with riverviews when river levels are down. Direct access to river for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, etc. Hiking available in back woods. Arrow head have been found beside the river and in creeks nearby. Plenty of driftwood all around, come and find a unique piece! Less than 10 miles from: City of Metropolis - the home of Superman, Fort Massac State park, Harrah’s Casino and Mermet springs(scuba diving). 13 miles to Heron Pond Reserve or Cache River nature area. 20 miles to Paducah, Ky or the Shawnee National Forest. Wildlife seen on property: Deer, Bald Eagle, Beaver, Fox, Groundhog, Turkey, Coyote, Bobcat, Herons.

Riverside Primitive Camping

This was an absolutely beautiful property and Neil’s family was so warm and welcoming. We loved our spot under the huge cottonwood trees. The bathroom and shower were clean and worked well. This was such a nice spot to relax for a couple nights.

Riverside Primitive Camping

I came here on short notice but Neil got me right by the river where I wanted to be. It's quiet and peaceful, the only sounds are the barges and waves on the water. The sound of the barges passing by at night is almost soothing, I slept well. Definitely get the firewood, it burned a good flame for a long time.

Magical Riverside Stay

The spot was secluded and beautiful, and Neil and his family were very helpful, warm and welcoming. This camping spot was a highlight for our 12yo daughter, who loved exploring the magical woodland with the fireflies, and colorful summer flowers. We’ll definitely be stopping by next time we’re on route. Highly recommended.

Great place for a sunset!

We liked it. What a unique place to spend a night. The barges on the river are a cross between eerie and super cool as they pass in the night. Neil can hook you up with some great firewood, and the fire was a perfect backdrop for the evening.
