The vibe at Mountaintop Paradise
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Julie and Bob were lovely hosts! They showed me around their farm, complete with friendly pigs, a bunny and an orchard with a cherry tree full of delicious cherries (great breakfast snack). They put coffee out in the morning. The campsite in the back has a beautiful view of the valley, and the sunset was pretty marvelous from up there. I didn't make a fire, but I *think* they provided firewood to the other campers. Overall, I felt safe and welcomed, and my expectations were greatly exceeded. I would definitely go back!
One note: there were a lot of bees. I don't mind bees, but if you're allergic or afraid of them, I would chat with Julie and Bob about what can be done before you get there. They mentioned that they have tried bee bombs in the past, which helped for a couple days at a time.
The drive up to Mountaintop Paradise was very nice with a perfectly paved winding road. The neighborhood felt very safe. When we arrived we found that there were at least 4 campsites. The setting was peaceful with log farmhouse a barn and another outbuilding.... all very tidy and thoughtfully cared for. Bob came out to greet us first. He accommodated our need for trees to hang our hammocks with the choice of two perfect spots. Bob gave us a tour showing us where the outhouse was and most importantly where coffee would be brewing in the morning. Then we met Julie who was warm and personable. Nothing kept us from sleeping well except for our own learning curve for sleeping In hammocks. We would stay at the mountaintop paradise again.
