This 3 acres site once used to be used for farming. Lava rock walls, unique tress through out with various wildlife. Enjoy this semi secluded area located across the street from the beach and down the road from Magic Sands. Enjoy hanging out with fellow campers and locals across the street at the park. Campsite has common patio area, grill and plenty of solar lighting.

Ocean View Campsite By Magic Sands
This is dusty campsite with lots of shade. The toilets and showers are all public and are on the other side of the busy road at the public beach. Not all campsites are big. Our site barely fitted our standard tent. The campsite has some terraces which are connected with stairs which are made of very loose rocks. Didn’t feel very safe to walk over.

Ocean View Tent By Magic Sands
Sadly, there is nothing hip about this camp. We were grateful for a last minute booking when another camp reservation fell through and paid $78 for an up to 7 person canvas tent yet were given a regular 4-person tent with very few amenities, including not enough bedding for four and a rough scramble over lava rock. In fact, almost all the amenities, including the claimed ocean view, are located across the street — the busy main drag of Kona — at Pahoehoe, a small beach park with one beach shower and two dirty port-o-potties. We learned too late there is a communal cooking area (grill and burner) with power chargers apparently. Two bright spots were 1) proximity to Magic Sands Beach about .25 away, a great boogie boarding beach with public toilets and better beach showers and 2) David, the site manager who was friendly and helpful. If you’re a hosteler with a bargain basement budget and aesthetic, this might work, but is essentially just some land with a few tents and several cars in various states of repair crammed in.
