You will pull into 495 Habersham Mill Rd, Green Shutter Cottage. There is a gravel drive that goes down behind the house where I will pick you up. A breathtaking view of the distant mountains greets you as you come on to the property as well as the majestic Villa del Sole, a Tuscan style villa on top of the hill. The land drops away into rolling pastures dotted with ancient trees, some 300+!. The woodlands are filled with wildlife that surround the property where you are completely isolated from the world. There are two creeks that border each side of the property and join together and flow into Lake Habersham then into the Soque, the top trophy trout stream in the southeast. The water in these streams is pure. Please respect this and bring Earth friendly soap for washing dishes. I recommend Dr. Bonner's Pure castile soap. Behind the property is 110 acs of woodlands and fields down to Lake Habersham. The Woodland sites and the Meadow both have streams, fire pits, benches and latrines. I will pack you into and out of your site with the tractor. I do not allow vehicles on the property.
Depending on where you want to camp there are three possible campsites to choose from: The Glade, 2-6 campers, The Meadow, 2 to 12 campers and, The Woodland site, 2 to 8 campers. The Glade site is in close proximity to The Woodland site and is in the middle of a small shaded clearing adjacent to the creek. It is often used for overflow from The Woodland. The Meadow is best for larger groups of 8 or more. It is is a medium size meadow with flat ground suitable for spacing a number of tents out. There is a fire pit and three benches. It also has a creek and a latrine. The Woodland site is suitable for 2 to 8 campers but is a bit limited on places to pitch tents. It too has a fire pit, benches, kitchen prep table and a newly added latrine. It is by far the prettiest site right next to the creek. It's possible to sit in the creek in areas during hot weather(shallow water and COLD!. You are not completely disconnected from the world here(WIFI) but far enough away to feel isolated and private. In the bottoms, you are nestled in the woods and can see nothing around you but forest, not even the Villa. You see no neighbors, houses, lights, etc. Stargazing from on top of the hill is not to be missed. Clarkesville is close by. Ingles is close by for forgotten supplies or a Starbucks fix. This is a small town, rural area, quiet and slow. There is plenty more to do if you just want Sole Farm camp as a base. Tallulah Gorge is 20 minutes to the north and hiking at Panther Creek. Habersham County does not have liquor except by the drink in restaurants. Beer and wine are sold at Ingles. The closest liquor store is in Mount Airy 25 mins away. Many good hiking opps are close by, waterfalls, thrifting. The Chattahoochee is good for canoeing, kayaking and swimming. There are several stables that offer trail rides close by. You are allowed to walk all over the property using the mown paths but please respect the other campers and my privacy. I will be respecing yours.

Sole Farm was a beautiful site to roam and camp for the night. I was greeted at the Entrance by Brooks (the owner) and was given a tour of his property. It was an educational experience that took us all the way from his greenhouse to the natural springs on the edge of his land. There were multiple areas to pitch a tent and have a great time, and an official site was laying at the base of the creek, accompanied by log benches and a fire pit. Would definitely recommend this spot and would stay here again!
Had the most wonderful time staying at The Woods at Sole Farm! The location was amazing and easy to get to and Brooks was great to deal with. I stayed here during the eclipse weekend and while there were others on the property, I was never bothered. This was my first time camping, so I was very nervous about animals, but only saw a very cool owl. Would definitely stay here again!
I stayed at Sole Farm during the solar eclipse (so in the heat of August). The owner, Brooks, is very responsive and hospitable. The Woods at Sole Farm are very green and lush. I stayed on site 8, which had a small stream running through that was quite tranquil with little salamander friends. The canopy protected my group from the beating sun. At night there was a symphony of insects and miscellaneous critters. We did ensure the food was locked up in the car, but we did hear some critters scurrying through our site. The site is also far from the other camp sites so there isn't much issues with noise. Our site also had a fire pit, benches, a prep table, and small path was made to lead to a secluded bathroom spot.
One point of clarification is that the sites require a small hike. Brooks said a quarter of a mile, but I'd say it was closer to half a mile. There was a great hill that Brooks designated as the eclipse watch site. Further more the way the farm and land looked like in the early morning light was breathtaking. It felt so calm and secluded.
Overall I had a wonderful experience. I recommend NOT going during the summer because of the Georgia heat, but I imagine the Spring and Fall would be perfect.
Our host Brooks was so helpful. He used his tractor to bring our heavier items down to the campsite. We camped near a little stream and the whole grounds were absolutely gorgeous and private. We will definitely plan on coming back!
Brooks’ place was a fantastic getaway, lots of land and a private setting tucked away amongst surprisingly convenient surroundings. Brooks was very helpful in getting our gear to the site, but was respectful of our space. Thanks!
Brooks was a great host, he met us when we got there and helped us take our camping gear to the site on his tractor. The site was beautiful- tons of privacy and a pristine stream to collect water from. We hope to be back!
