When you hear "Nelsonville, Wisconsin" you may not have high expectations, but let me tell you, this little town and the incredible souls that live there are really on to something good: strong community, local art, and down right fun. The Tomorrow River Homestead, owned by Ru and Isaiah, is in every way quaint as it is bursting with energy. Their house gives campers access to a bathroom/sink/shower, and in the future- a general store with fresh produce from their garden and camping necessities. Upon arriving to the site, be prepared to be inspired by the artists in residency, as Ru has created a community for artists at the homestead with a variety of disciplines.
We camped down the hill from the house, alongside the Tomorrow River- a winding, peaceful river, clean and temperate enough to take a swim or leisurely paddle. There is plenty of space to pitch a tent or two, set up hammocks, and have a bonfire. While we chose to camp by the river, there is a separate space set up with a hammock, fire ring, and fire wood closer to the barn that is perfectly spacious and provides enough tree cover for the strong summer days to come.
Simply put- we had a blast and are sure to come back soon!

Rue and Zay are awesome people with a beautiful property they are willing to share with complete strangers. They were very kind and welcoming when we showed up, but gave us plenty of privacy. The camp area is nicely kept with a few flat pads for tents and a nice little fire pit. The river is gorgeous and holds some fish for those willing to put in the work. Nelsonville is a quite and quaint little town, but not far from breweries, lakes, the tomorrow river trail, and other great towns. Would definitely love to come back!

A couple of friends and I wanted a relaxing weekend getaway and we got it! A nice spot next to a quiet river, lovely coffee shop in walking distance.
Rubina was a great host! She showed us where everything was with thorough directions. She left a table out for us to use as well(which we are so thankful for)!

Thank you for a sweet stay!

We truly enjoyed staying at Tomorrow River! My friends and I were in need of a quiet and refreshing trip and we found this campsite! Other than the the very random rain shower
Rubina was very kind when showing us the property and gave us a lot of advice for floating down the river! She also left a nice table for us to use at our campsite!
Tomorrow River had a perfect campsite for a nice quiet getaway. There are lots of trees for shade and for hanging your hammock. The town is small and sweet, there is a lovely coffee shop within walking distance of the campsite. The River is smooth, slow and great for a lazy float! Overall a very relaxing camping trip!

We had a fantastic stay here. The campsite felt completely secluded, but we were a 4 minute walk to a quaint little town with a fantastic coffee roaster. The Tomorrow River, a beautiful trout stream was just down the trail from us. Nice pine trees, fire circle and hammock too. Rubina and Zay were considerate hosts — accessible, accommodating but respectful of our privacy. The homestead itself is something to behold. Nice accommodations, an artist residency program and an eco retreat all rolled up together. Nice garden too.

Rubino directed us to a campsite down by the creek. Since we were visiting in May, there were no mosquitoes; otherwise we probably would have stayed her to say closer to her house. There was a fire ring and plenty of firewood to choose from. She also let us borrow her gorilla cart to bring down cured wood from her house. We were able to fill up our water containers using the hose there, too. We were pleased to find a place to camp with such short notice.

Rubina was very friendly. Very beautiful location. We stayed in our newly renovated pop-up, which limited where we could camp. Overall, a good experience that I would recommend.

We loved our first Hipcamp experience. We were in their backyard but it felt secluded. There are chickens and lovely serenity within a small town. Would definitely go back!
