Willow Creek - camp with alpacas
The Willow Creek tent site is one of only two camping sites available on this historic 13-acre organic farm. Nestled in a secluded valley in Wisconsin's Driftless Region, our farm, "Griff Run" has been rated a 5-star accommodation for travelers for several years. In 2020, we expanded our offerings by adding the Willow Creek tent site. Please note that our sites are listed
Please note that our sites are listed as "not suitable for children" under 12 due to country road hazards, electric fence, gated pastures, etc.
Parking for high clearance vehicles is available at the site - others may park in our barn drive and will have a short walk to the site. Along the creek and sheltered by a willow tree, this site has been cut into native Wisconsin prairie and offers a fire pit, large grill grate, trash can and picnic table. Firewood is available for purchase via Hipcamp (super reasonable!) and we ask that no firewood be brought onto the property. Our Willow Creek tent site is frequently visited by our laying hens and turkeys as their mobile coop is not far away.
New in 2021, we have built an outdoor hot-water shower for our guests - near the red barn. A well-maintained porta potty and wash sink for guests of the Starcraft site are also near the camper. This potty is serviced after each reservation. Potable water is also available at a spigot near the barn.
Guests can also find a charging station near the potties. We haven't had any issues with theft at the farm to date, but note that devices charging there are left at your own risk.

We met Matthew (husband) and Holland (daughter) plus Alice, the friend who helps run the eclectic shop. Shawna was available by messaging and responded quickly to our questions. They are all a very friendly and helpful family. We couldn't have asked for a better stay! (Well, maybe for it not to rain, Lol). This place was great! We loved the alpacas, even to just sit near them because alpacas don't like to be petted much, but we knew that! We just liked them being there to watch and even feeding them some grain treats. The seating in the animal area was relaxing. The shower was hot and amazing especially after being soaking wet from the rain, and wanting to be warmed up. We also enjoyed some eggs each day for breakfast, a warm fire by our campsite, and some delicious baked brownies from the shop! It's a pretty and primitive ( have to drive a ways (at least 20+ minutes) to restaurants, wildcat mountain state park, etc) yet very great stay and also nice to be away from places. We'd love to come back and stay in the cabin or BNB sometime too. Yep, we loved it and would recommend this place for a night or two of camping. We stayed in our tent so no electricity needed for us, but they also do have a charging station by the barn area for guests to use. We kind of felt like we were glamping a bit! So many amenities not often found for campers!

I felt like royalty here. Everything was immaculate and clean and thoughtful. The alpacas are utterly irresistible. The two turkeys provide great sound effects and Marco and Polo (the two fuzzy "Pyredors") are so happy! The weather turned unexpectedly cold and then unexpectedly rainy, and everyone went above and beyond to make sure I was warm and dry. The porta potty was spotless, and the hot water in the hand washing station was marvelous. You must visit the store in the barn, and be prepared for an amazing trip down memory lane. The store is an absolute gem. I can't wait to go back. This is an amazing, hard working family that provides a restful, calming and charming stay.
Highly recommended adding on some eggs, so good! All the animals 🐓 🦙 🦃 🐕 are super cute! Lovely hosts and wonderful amenities.
Great place and informative host!
Alpacas! Chicken welcoming committee!
This was a fun place to camp! The site is super cute and has a neighboring chicken coop with chickens and turkeys who like to come visit. Great view of the stars at night. Wifi worked well. The porta potty was clean and a short walk from the site (in the alpaca enclosure). We were able to park in the designated spot and then disconnect and walk our 4x8’ teardrop camper down the path to the site. A little tight but doable! The host was super helpful and gave some great recommendations of things to do in the area.
So many nice little touches from having a touch lantern at the picnic table to a dish rack at the sink. We loved our time hanging out with the alpaca and chickens.

Great place! Shawna and crew made sure we had everything we needed, including fresh eggs and fire wood and fire starters! The space is cleared out just enough near a willow tree, private and the on-site WiFi and showers were a welcome addition to the camping experience. Shawna gave recommendations for kayaking and a local brewery. All around a great stay at Willow Creek. Thank you!
